183rd Nation War
Hi, folks! Just a quick reminder that the 183rd Nation War will be taking place this Sunday at 20:00 GMT in Sedina D-2. The standard rules apply, to wit:
No swarms, lightning mines, BioCom mines, or pet Furies.
Once you die, you are out. You can come back to watch in an EC class ship, but stay well away from the action, at least 2000m. If the action comes near you, PLEASE move out of the way, or the fighters might kill you just to get you off their radars. If you come back in anything but an EC ship, you run the risk of getting your entire team disqualified.
The sector we use has an extensive asteroid field. Stay within that asteroid field while fighting or you will be disqualified.
If you experience a bit of lag, that's normal (having a Nation War without some sector lag is a big event), but if you have extreme lag, or you lag entirely out, you will be disqualified and should remove yourself from the fighting arena as soon as you have full control of your ship again.
That's about it! I urge newer players to come down to give it a go, it's a ton of fun and the biggest player event in VO. And all the team members remaining alive at the end of the fight split a prize in excess of 20 million credits. Hope to see lots of you there!

Just to confirm, this would be 16:00 EST then?
Correct. For a nice list of lots of different time zones for 20:00 GMT, look here.
A very fine war today. There were many newer players who showed up, and actually did pretty well for themselves! (Bobba Zelios landed the only hit on me that didn't come from Star Buck...) An all-out furball erupted from the start, with the UIT numbers being slowly whittled away, and admirable teamwork being shown from the Serco. The Itani tactics kept them in the game for a good long time, but eventually it was just spidey leading the remaining Serco on a chase around the roids and Snuper50, who survived until very late. spidey managed to take one or two out before he was finally caught. Congratulations to the survivors!

On a personal note, I'd like to thank everyone who participated for being so prompt. We started absolutely on time (well, maybe a few seconds over so I could make sure I had everyone's name down), and I'm very appreciative of that. So thanks for making it a fun and on-time War!
And a big UIT congrats to Snuper50, for holding off three Serco as long as he did :-p
Thanks for hosting today, Denji.
