I am so laughing my fucking ass off right now. The discussion was fairly well concluded until the bitching about bitching began.
Seriously folks. This is a community with a variety of subgroups vying for their own interests. You see it in every about every important discussion, whether trader vs pirate interests on the economy or on the sanctioning of an individual over a public event like was alluded to in this thread.
If people did not have a personal investment in the game, they would not care and the most active forum would be off topic until the devs go broke and the forums finally shut down. I could suggest that the level of passion is a reasonable measure of that investment.
If Vendetta can't handle some healthy conflict then the game has already failed and we might as well all log off and play Tiddly Winks.

has anyone seen my little red rubber ball?
tgft sucks
I would also like to point out honestly how many newbies do you see at a nation war? out of the hundreds of people who ask if you can dock on planets or say "omfg apu-tech guardians suck" do you see at a nation war 1 maybe 2? there is really no effort put in to include newbs hell i didn't even get invited to one until the end of my 2nd month playing. the fact is boycotting or not low attendence or not nw does not draw people to vendetta. there are millions of other team deathmatch games out there.
Ret makes a good point about people not being able to handle conflict this is an mmo and a pvp mmo at that conflict is the main driving force behind pvp mmos why do you think eve has so many subs?
and regardless of what moldyman may like to think greyspace was not set up to be a local chat area for the three nations to gather and "mingle" read the backstory its a lawless area pompus people need to realize that throwing a fit isn't getting them anywhere

Really? And you have another suggestion for where everyone can gather to fight? Wait, there is no such place EXCEPT for gray space, which was meant to allow everyone to mingle, regardless of standing.
You mean somewhere where the major two millitary factions can get together and fight over ownership of sectors and stuff? A place where UiT's show up to *join in the fun*. Maybe we could even have some good ol' cap ship battles going on too, like obsid used to do back in Sedina B8.
Oh wait, aint that Deneb?

hell i didn't even get invited to one
And you require a personal invitation?
People are shouting about it an hour before it starts, you just need to pay slightest attention to 100, and come...
Quite often someone asks 'and what is nw anyway?', gets an answer, and is asked to come...
And it likely does not draw people (how would you know about an ingame event if you aren't playing?) but it does help keep them.

if one of the stated ideas of nation war is to get newbs involved then well yeah it is nice if someone personally asks you to come nad fight for your nation not just shout over 100 ALL SERCO /MSG ME
anyways some people in here are becoming unreasonable nation war is still around maalik is doing a good job hosting it come and join if you want or stfu.
oh and seriously if you don't play vo anymore why the hell do you care how big and important nation war is? it would be better for it to eventually fall by the way side and be replaced by idk conquerable sectors.

Oh totally agree about conquerable sectors.
But players can't make them.
