Well, some ideas work, others don't. Personally I would have tried to make it a bit clearer that it was a credit clearing bot rather than a "bank". I think that folk would have fewer objections to a small handling charge per transaction.
Look on the bight side, players have gained experience in creating and running the code, and with some policy adoptions it may be a useful facility with rp potential.
Mind you, this thread was worth it for the staggering revelation that Breazle's ISP is , in fact , not God ......
Ecka

Ahh, I posted within seconds of your edit Breazle. Yeah I forgot I gave you the account, but you still have more then the opening fees in your account at the time of writing this.

ahahaha! thank you for that Ecka :) I needed a laugh
Hmm well I am going to rethink my current model and see what I can change around with pricing and such. Look for an update soon.

Err.. Not sure if you read my other post but it is 500k now. And plenty of people already have
And if just one person reads this thread and decides not to put their credits under your control, I'll have done something useful with the few minutes of my time I've spent here.

is VO-Bank still around? I never see it anymore.
Breazle seemed to go off-line for a bit...
I dont run the bank... I was just asked to post about it. Though apparantly the computer that runs it has *broken*
Well then, I bet all the people that had some money in it feel real smart now.
Man, that comes as a total, total shock.
Okay here's an update about whats been going on with the bank...
1. My gaming computer's hard drive went crazy and decided to pretty much just die.. I'm not sure what happened to it but this is why I haven't been playing much.
2. In the process of trying to fix my gaming computer, I tried to connect my SeaGate external HD to my gaming computer (the seagate was connected to the computer that runs the bank). Well, I completely forgot that I had GRUB installed on the external HD (what was I thinking..?) and I made a attempted to install windows XP on the SeaGate (I don't keep much on the SeaGate)
3. Well, that deleted GRUB (I didn't know I had GRUB on the SeaGate at the time)
4. So, I turned the Vo-Bank computer back on and well... It didn't boot up as it was missing GRUB and all I got was a GRUB error. All my attempts to put another boot loader on the computer failed due to unknown problems.. and support is hard to come by when you have a strange BIOS that nobody has ever heard of :/
5. So now I am without a computer, and I am typing this up on my moms computer (It cannot run much of anything.. so running vo-bank from here is out of the question)
SO, I am currently waiting for a new hard drive and power supply to arrive in the mail. It should be here sometime this week. Once I get that I can restore Vo-Bank and run it from my gaming computer until I can fix the Vo-Bank computer.
If I can't get this thing all figured out by the end of this week I am going to speak to one of the Devs to see if I can't get them to credit your guys' credits back. If you have any questions at all email me at nate.s@vzw.blackberry.net (luckily my blackberry hasn't broken so I can still check my email)
I apologize for any inconvenience. These computer troubles couldn't of come at a worse time...

Like a real bank i assume you have backups of the transaction information. And since it was your failure and not theirs i hope you refund the 500k fee to start an account.
No bot has ever been completely stable in VO. Even IRC isn't up all the time. I guess those of us who waited to sign up made the right choice.

Yeah I have backups of everything externally.
I refunded those a while back JestatisBess...

Look, swindling those people dumb enough to tender credits to you is one thing. Don't you fucking dare waste the Devs' time cleaning up your mess, and thereby screw the game's entire population by taking them away from more important things. And no, spreading credits around characters isn't a quick thing.

Oh, wow Lecter. I really thought I was going to be able to escape your unintelligent ramblings and exaggerations for once but I guess that was to much to ask for...
You do realize you sound like a complete dumbfuck don't you?
Dr. Lecter = nothing more than a common troll

and so Bank Gate begins...
m4c4br3, Dr. Lecter is crude but he has a point. The Devs are busy with real game stuff. I suggest you track down the people yourself and credit them yourself, and don't bother the Devs with your problem.
Just an idea...
Just an idea...
Hey! I had 1 million creds in your bank! I wants me monies!
I totally dont see why dr lecter is a dumb fuck...
/me steals Leber's money

Dr. Lecter is way more than a common troll. He is a very nasty troll. Who happens to be right from time to time
I'm right far more often than not, as most of the VO boards' inhabitants would grudgingly admit. I don't see anything here to rebut the facts that (i) having the Devs clean up vobank's mess by refunding credits would distract them from projects that would otherwise benefit the game as a whole, and (ii) doing so would actually be an immensely tricky and time-consuming project.
I'll take the "very nasty" as a compliment--though if you think my trolling is vicious, you should see my pirating.
As for you, vobank, that's a very intelligent response, not at all rambling or exaggerated, that you've made there. Thanks so much!
