Newbie problems
I tried to build up characters for two nights but you get killed by experienced players with their missiles, double-blasted super cannons and other gadgets while you still sit in you free RC-88.
Doesn't seem they even look at scores or bounties. If it moves, shoot it.
I'm actually tired of getting bombed back to stoneage by people who hang around all night whining how bored they are.

Trick is to stay in your home sectors untill you feel confident you can take on other players. Untill ppl stop shooting n00bs it is your only chance.
/me cant wait till the reputation system comes into effect. Then the n00b killers will pay somehow, and people will be carefull when they select their targets.

ehhe,
the suicide bus :D
cheers
PS: but you are right, I try to do something about it, but Im only 1 person, and not really a good fighter. I just have to get through those stubborn people, that pirating people "newbies" isnt fun. No fun at all.

Problem is, if I stay in my sector, I can't trade and I can't score and I'll sit in that microbus forever :oD
I'm not a good fighter too, and tried to trade my way up first, the farest I came was about 12.000 credits until I was shot by some ****** with a score of 186.000 (me: 45).
So under the baseline, it seems that this test will not see any new players join, only bored veterans. If it went commercial one day, that was a major showstopper (IMHO).

erm... just stay in your two home sectors and trade between them. And there are bots in your second sector, so you can shoot those for score.
also never be afraid to ask for an escort, alot of bored vets are on your team also and would probably love to do something to help.
well, I'll try another time.
And when I'm grown, I'll kick some bored vets :oP

Another thing you may want to keep in mind is capping. If you see a large fleet from a rival nation outside your home gate, just go back into whatever sector you came from. Hit "u" when you leave a wormhole to check. If there are a lot of people from other nations there, they are either fighting or capping, and you don't want to be around in either event, so just run away. I have seen many an inexperienced newbie get killed because they mistakenly wandered into a capping fleet.
Well if the reputation system and RPG aspects kicks in, then again, vets would want to kill their own noob from the same nation after launching from their own station if they launched for the first time..
Unless if there is a large fleet of NPC fighters going after the noob killers in government controlled areas..

Ummm... Genka, I think you actually *lose* money when you trade between your two home sectors... And yeah, I try to help n00bs like Renegade, but I'm a bad fighter, and I'm also not on much...
If you swap electronics for the second sectors goods, you make around 600c per trip in a bus, not much but it's something.
no pyro, you make money.
Make a few bucks in your home sectors, then buy an efficient engine and fast charge battery. With those in a bus you can outrun pretty much every griefer. To escape pirates medium/fast charge is sometimes better. You really do not have to be able to fight. I escaped Icarus and TradeShip1 repeatedly in a Bus and Atlas with decent engine/battery (with Atlas its little harder though).
listen all u i was just a recent newb so let me tell u its not ezy so we should organize somtin u know like "np #1" (newb protector 1) so we have about 1 or 2 in each sectorrespond and then we will try it
Find the way to sectors 14 or 15. Buy fastest engine, jump into the sector and RUN to the next gate. You'l make 2-3 runs before you get killed. Each run is 50000c easily.
I have seen this problem with the n00bs for some time and I've spoken loudly and consistently about it. Picking on n00bs drives away new players. If there are no new players, then the developers will not see Vendetta as a viable investment. No return on one's investment means no game. Therefore, driving away n00bs is seeing to it that "bored vets" have no game to complain about.
All of the suggestions offered on this thread will work for n00bs. However, I suspect that by now you know that the bots have been made MUCH more dangerous, so trading becomes much more important. This means that n00bs must eventually trade in dangerous sectors.
My contribution to the cause is to invest in the n00bs personally. Look for Freya. It doesn't matter if you are Itani, Serco, or Neutral. I will help you find good trade routes and help you as much as I can. More, I am prepared to help you purchase better ships and weaponry with which to deal with bots and hunters. Why do this? Because better equipped n00bs become the ace pilots of tomorrow and I want those ace pilots watching my back. I help you, then you help me. If more players took this route, we would all benefit. Again, seek out Freya. I will help as much as I can.
What is the catch? Simple: I won't help griefers, spies, or "color jumpers." By color jumpers, lets say you are playing a Gold character and you find out via the team chat that Gold is going to cap Blue's flag. You immediately sign off from Gold and jump to Blue, warn them about the incoming Gold cap, and defend against Gold. This is rotten conduct and I won't support it. I will do some checking on n00bs before I help them. If you are a veteran player looking to get some easy credits -- go kill some bots. I help only sincere n00bs who want to play a good, clean game. That said, I look forward to hearing from you.
