I'm new to this game and I've probably got less than 5 hours total gametime.
Why is it called an RPG?
It's not. It's a space action game.

Role playing essentially means that you make a character and you do stuff to advance that character and interact with your environment, ie, Icarus is a pirate, people with [TFV] are traders. But you are in constant first person. We prefer to call this a mmorpgfps (massively multiplayer online role playing game first person shooter)

Well... The whole idea of role playing is playing a role.
That is: Pretendt to be a fictive person.
InGame I am Zathras. My "plan" was to attempt to copy the Babylon 5 character with the same name.
But it seems this is a progressive, remotely saved action game.
Not that it's a bad thing, vendetta is great fun, but it's not an RPG IMHO.

Vendetta is none of the above.

It is a test-bed for a game engine which will be used to build a MMORPG.

Role-playing elements, such as the ability to set missions, are in the works.

me is still wondering for the exact timeframe :D

Timeframe to final? Should be about 10 months from what I most recently heard.

Really, good games take some time to create. Personally, I would prefer that the devs take even longer than that, because that will make the RPG just that much more immersive. The more work they put in, the better a game it becomes :)

And the longer we get to "test" for free!
