Hello!
I just thought I'd pop onto the boards and reply to some random RP threads. Glad to see that the more things change, the more they stay the same! (No that's not some kind of swipe at the devs, I can't wait to try this new superlight ship thingy.)
I, too, will pop in and randomly reply to things!
But I won't be seeing a VO log-in screen for many, many months. 280 hour months are not fun.

God bless corporate America and newbie lawyers' greed!
Indeed. Given my rather frugal standard of living and scholarship-lightened loans, I'll be able to "retire" to a lower paying, more sedate existance in comfort . . . right about the time I'm getting old enough to think that such a life is, on balance, a good thing.
But thanks for the warm, fuzzy thoughts, Syylk ;)

Lecter: 280 hour months, sounds like salary.
Lec.. 280hrs? bah. get a job ya bum..
I did the calculations: just over 9 1/3rd hours a day, in a 30day month.
The average trucker works between 12-14hrs a day, with 3-4 days off in a month:
low end: 312hrs a month (12x(30-4))
high end: 378hrs a month (14X(30-3))
*EDIT* oh, and if you want to consider -all- the time inside the truck, as working, then it'll go WAYYY up. considering for many drivers, if they arent driving.. they're sleeping, inside the truck..

The average trucker's only worry is driving the rig. From the uncle of mine who was a trucker--until his back problems made him change careers--I understand it's usually a relatively stress free task (though I concede they may be away from home even more than I am).
Also keep in mind lawyers only track hours they bill; there's almost never a 1:1 ratio between that and time spent at work.
[Edit] So, will we be seeing a return of Leber and/or some of BLAK's former members anytime soon? Or are ya'll waiting more (or have you kicked the space-crack habit)? [/edit]

I've been annoying people for the last couple of weeks or so.
I came online a week ago to say Merry Xmas to some folks. I have not seen Martin or anyone else of note from BLAK, well, at least, under their former names. Well besides the usual SYN and CLM folks.
So I can have the satisfaction of posting it, I'll post this comment, from another player, who has this to say: "It's Blak! [The now disbanded Black Lance Guild -ed.] Has to be. They're like 50-armed puppeteers, pulling their strings all over the galaxy, steering every one of us toward their own devious end game!"

Hrm. Once things slow down some (as I'm assured they will...), I'll have to climb back into the cockpit and come play.
And I think I have just the character for it.
