Observer:

A fun NW , excellent combat action . Lots of ships in there , I got killed early on , and returned to see some excellent light fighter work . The Itanis held on well, Ghost showing excellent defensive flying, but the teamwork and weight of numbers meant the UIT won that one .

The 3 surviving UIT , Surbius Bondevo, Spaceranger, Maalik & c and Sharingan win the 21 million cr Prize , sponsored jointly by TGFT ,M.Wittman ,Pasquel, Waldoze, Jestasis Bess, and John Eldritch.

My Thanks to all the newer players that joined in , practice and kill me next time ;-)

May I ask all players to stay close to their nation group and remain relatively stationary at the start , makes it easier for me to record names .

The wins: ( Thanks RentaGhost)

Itani 32
Serco 17
UIT 32

Same time , same place next week

should the prize be split amongst the winning team rather than just the survivors?

Actually, I've been wondering that for some time now. It would encourage different tactics. Heavier ships that rarely survive to the end of the battle, but cause a lot of damage in the beginning would be more numerous.

It's also (obviously) a matter of fairness. My survival wasn't indicative of any superior effort.

Hmmm... that does bring in something to think about.

Prizes would be much less per person

But a 10 to 25 mill spit 5 to 10 ways is still a lot of money. I think ecka and the other organizers should consider it. I think it would foster more noob participation.

My main concern would be the practical problem of getting all the members of the winning team back in sector so I could pay them . There is always one homed in Deneb ....

What about maybe splitting 50% among the survivors and the other 50% among the rest of the team. This way everyone gets something yet the ones who lived still get the most for bringing the team through to victory. Something would need to be worked out though since there have been NWs where more than 50% of the winning team made it to the end.

that's not hard to work out.
i) two pots, 50% in pot A and 50% in pot B. Everybody partakes an equal share in pot A, and only survivors in pot B. Survivors get from both pots.
variation:
ii) each participant gets $1M. The remainder is split by the Survivors.

Just stick with the old way. If it works don't fix it.

You wouldn't have to do anything fancy. Just be strict about it. Make sure people know that all members of the winning team, not just survivors, will get money. Then if people don't show up in sector after the fight, they don't get their money.
