The Big 6
The Rise of the Six Major Guilds in the Universe
SSC
Name: Sigma Shipping Company
Claim to Fame: Shipping/Trade oriented Guild
Estimated Active Numbers: 15-20
Background: Being one of the largest and most well known trading/shipping guilds Sigma has become an entity known for its role playing and support for player created events. Recently SSC has become an important supporter of the Deneb Run in which it donates a large amount of money to the winners of the event. Role playing is an important aspect as well (with the Makchuga Bar and Grill) but only a limited number of SSC’s members are heavily involved RP wise. Although they are very wealthy, wealth has proven in the past not provided everything (stalemate in Latos Conflict); could SSC hold onto their place?
ITAN
Name: Coalition of Itan
Claim to Fame: Itani Defensive Force/Main Itani Guild
Estimated Active Numbers: 30-35
Background: ITAN is the largest Itani Nationalist Guild around and has been since the merger of IDF and IA, two smaller Itani Nationalist Guilds. Itan has grown increasingly more powerful but at the same time has become somewhat unstable and disliked amongst the universe. They continue to grow and expand as the Itani/Serco war presses on.
TGFT
Name: The Guild of Free Traders
Claim to Fame: Free Trade Guild
Estimated Numbers: 15-25
Background: The oldest remaining active trading guild to date TGFT has built its success upon hard currency, free trade, and a hoard of ores and other such items. It is known for being one of the more structured guilds and continues to show its presence in the Universe. Recently, it has seen a dramatic decrease in activity. This coupled with the passage of leaders rapidly and quietly leaves many to believe something in TGFT is not going as planned.
CLM
Name: Cargo Liberation Movement
Claim to Fame: Main Pirate Guild in the Universe
Estimated Active Numbers: 25-35
Background: The largest Pirate organization, CLM certainly has had its ups and downs in the past few years. CLM amassed a lot of wealth through piracy throughout the regions of space. Although commanding a lot of strength on its shoulders, CLM has been targeted multiple times by free trade guilds. All of this culminated into the Latos Conflict in which CDC, SSC, TGFT, and a few other guilds all challenged CLM’s control of the Latos Wormholes. Although the conflict was short lived it had terrible effects on CLM, CDC, and SSC in which all three guilds lost money, lost members, and finished in a stalemate. Recently, CLM has been revived from the Latos Conflict and is enjoying an increased in piracy throughout the galaxy which is bolstering their profits.
SCAR
Name: Sky Command Assault Regiment
Claim to Fame: Major Serco Military Unit/Main Serco Guild
Estimated Active Numbers: 15-20\
Background: SCAR has a shaky but interesting background. It has been founded multiple times and also collapsed multiple times but still is continuing its presence throughout the Serco Dominion. Multiple offensive attacks by SCAR have been successful but the range of their military is very limited. After competing with SDN, ST6, BDC, amongst others for most populated and influential Serco guild, SCAR came out on top again as the others fizzled. The future is uncertain and is predicted to be just as shaky as its past history has proven to be.
PA
Name: Phoenix Alliance
Claim to Fame: Gray Spaced Guild
Estimated Active Numbers: 20-30
Background: Founded off of multiple independent pilots and dead/dying guilds the Phoenix Alliance has risen “out of the ashes” and nothingness. PA’s start was a slow one but after gaining allies and members it quickly rose to be a rising power in the Universe. PA’s rise was not one without conflict but luckily the conflict was not enough to tear the guild apart. PA is still very young compared to the other top guilds in the universe which means it could be one of the newest guilds to grace the top spots of the universe or one of the guilds that falls apart with age.
Endangered Guilds (least endangered to most):
ITG
Reason: Has faltered multiple times, low numbers, dictatorship
Also, their trading policies have faltered causing many to be upset with them. (some are threatening military action)
Surviving Numbers: 2-5
QHG/QKG
Reason: Poor Leadership (messing QKG up so having to make QHG), noob based, lack of dedicated members
Surviving Numbers: 2-4
SDN
Reason: Grew rapidly but failed just as quick, not enough serco at creation
Surviving Numbers: 1-3
CDC
Reason: Inactivity of leaders and collapse after Latos Conflict
Surviving Numbers: 1-3
EnB
Reason: Inactive leaders, inactive members, inactive inactives, just plain inactive
Surviving Numbers: 1-2 (maybe)
GRU
Reason: Too many pirate guilds when created, poor leadership, poor guild qualities (pirating own members)
Surving Numbers: 1-2 (maybe)
PWND
Reason: Too many little pirate guilds when created, lack of leadership
Surviving Numbers: 1 possibly “extinct”

how do you determine whether a player is active or not???
Last time they said "ninny" on the forums. That's why SKV is nowhere in this list, and it should.
skv is mostly inactive until the game sees more progress.
This is probably the worst list of all lists, even in this forums.
I believe Ghost, an SKV member, is more active of late than anyone from CDC, SDN, and EnB. aVirulence has been seen around recently, as well.
Along with aVirulence and Ghost being active lately, Morgan West is also of SKV and played a good part in the CLM vs. Itani CTC in past weeks. SKV is not dead, just small.
SKV VPR and SYN have been left off among with a few others because they are middle ground guilds at this point.
you should list BotH on there just for kicks.
ninny!
oh and avirulence is a plonker!

Middle ground guilds?
yea in between top 6 and endangered... its really not a hard concept to grasp
We're still around. Just smaller than we normally are =)
P.S.
Ninny!
and Niki hacks and is a cheat with 200% health!

Haha, SoR transcends all criteria.
Ninny!
How the f&%* can you observe a damn thing from Pelatus? That's what most of us call the "ass end" of space!
You called it "home" once upon a time, Leber.
The Observer is cousin of that Marvel Comics guy, the green big-headed one called The Watcher, so he can see everything from far away and spin nonsensical prose about it.
Oh yeah, I remember the time that Wolverine was gonna carve him up, but didn't get a chance to... (I actually HAVE that X-Men issue, somewhere, it's like #167 or whatnot. OK I have shared too much of my geekiness...)
And HEY I was there because I was trying to HIDE from people, not be at the center of everything. In fact, if there's a center of everything, Pelatus is the farthest place from it.
But now that I get the fact that the "Pelatus Observer" is like "The Watcher" and not a newspaper like I thought, it all makes sense now and I can stop fretting.
Included in this story should be the discussions of HOW we ended up at the name [ITAN] - Miha, do you still have those logs/text notes? Hell, I've never seen people be so obsessed over a name: [IA] and [IDF] almost didn't merge because we couldn't agree on a frikkin' name. Come to think of it, it set the stage for the guild from then on.
