backrollers? (i dont know if they are still a problem)
but i think i've found a solution for them if they are that some people haven't even considered!
just let them go away, they obviously dont want to fight you if they keep running away, go find someone else to fight, maybe they will want to fight back?

no, because the moment you turn about for more interesting to do than chasing pansy footers, they go caling you runners or rail you in the back or else.
the worse backrolers at the moment is vo itself. it's been said and acknowleged that the npc bots have faster-than-available engines and they can maintain 70-75m/s.
i take it that when vo stops cheating itself we'll be able to find solutions for the backrollers.

hmm. ive honestly never had problems fighting a backroller
i just keep dodging until they get in closer to get a shot so i can hit them my weapons

I either do what Bean says, or I stop dead and let them float off for a bit. There's little argument about who's backrolling then. If they turbo back I shoot them silly.
The Whistler method works, but not if you're in a hurry. If someone is constantly backrolling I go elsewhere. In duels, however, backrolling should be punishable by permanently banning the offender from VO and charging their credit card $10 for every VO subscriber.
UC, if you find yourself fighting a backrolling centurian NPC, hit your own reverse, and they will then move forward to compensate the distance. When the distance counter gets under 130 start going forward then, and you will for a brief time be within 100m and your shots will connect. Repeat as necessary.

Bots can't backroll, seeing as they can't roll as far as I know.
yeah i know harpo. though, thanks for mentioning it for the sake of others.
the problem is that you can't afford that luxury in complex situations (bs/bp) when you are being ganked left and right with bots and abusive dont-take-no-missioners.

UC, with multiple BP bots always be using either the 's' or 'w' in a roll. If in an IBG, or other ship with decent forward thrust and a fast roll, roll plus hold the 's' and they will trail along behind you missing mostly, just watch when changing direction after the kill.
