Why a fourth team...?
May 26, 2007 Cunjo link
Because the pirates have been begging for it as long as I can remember, and frankly there's no harm in giving it to them. If they want to have their own team, I see no problem with that. Besides which, with the coming faction system redux, it would be inevitable sooner or later.

Of course, they probably won't be able to compete, so they may want to rethink forming one.

Is this game a game for players only in USA?
May 26, 2007 slime73 link
Nope. There are quite a few euro players, and even a couple Aussies.
May 26, 2007 slime73 link
Did you consult with the other 3 hosts before adding these rules, Cunjo?
May 26, 2007 Surbius link
Well it seems like he went out of his way and put SCAR as the sponsor for the NW.

I'm iffy with some rules but unless SCAR wishes to fully host the NW (from ITAN to SCAR (makes sense)) it's okay with me.
May 26, 2007 slime73 link
ITAN have never hosted the War. Omega 0 was not acting on his guild's behalf.
May 26, 2007 Cunjo link
If I start hearing from the other hosts, we can start compromising. As of the last NW, I was the only one in attendance, and for this one I have yet to see anyone else helping to get the ball rolling.

Mind you, these rules are being tried for this NW only. There's no garuntee we'll keep them... so if the other hosts disagree with having a 4th team, you're welcome to vote against it in the future.

There is no timeslot in existance that will make everyone happy. No matter where we put it, SOMEONE is left out, be they in Japan, Russia, Germany, or the US. Up until this point, we've had the NW at 2000 Zulu. 2000 Local Time for me is early... on any other day, it's probably the earliest I can get on (and usually the earliest is closer to 2200 for me), and from there I'm on to maybe 0300. 2000 Zulu is 1600 Local Time, and 1600 is very early to be gaming on a Sunday. For the people on the other coast of the US, it's even earlier - 1400 or before. 2000 Zulu is too early for a lot of people in the US, and it's more than early enough for those in Europe. I'd be surprised if pushing NW back a couple hours would force any Eurpeans to drop out... instead of asking them to be on at 2000/2100, we'd be asking them to be on at 2200/2300, which should still be early enough for anyone whose parents don't send them to bed early. So instead of having it at 2000 this week (which is perfectly fine for everyone in Europe, but highly inconvenient for a lot of people in the US), I want to see what the turnout will be with a time that is more optimal between both parties. It's not like I'm asking to start the NW at 0200 Zulu. People from outside the US should still be able to participate.

Now Leber, this is an example of someone being given an inch, and taking a foot.

Cunjo, way to completely abuse a slight bit of power that was given to you to use on behalf of the community.

On timeslots: Agreed, this will always be a problem. However, you must not make the mistake of judging from this one weekend, due to it being a holiday (and an extended weekend, including the following Monday). Your results would be skewed.

I don't mind the new rules.

As for not being there, that's not quite true.
I hosted one NW (the one that almost didn't happen due to bugs and such), and i did participate in last NW (didn't help organizing as i came somewhat late iirc, and there probably wasn't a need for that).
Anyway PA will add additional 2mil to the prize.

We need a calender for this.
May 27, 2007 Cunjo link
I think we have a calendar, but nobody uses it... in fact, I don't even know who's on the contributor list for it at this point, and I'm pretty sure I'm not.

Perhaps someone can get this thing officialized and rolling again?

tosh, you make a good point about the weekend... I'd forgotten about that (I work tomorrow anyway), so I guess we'll need at least one more week to get a good measure.

Maq, what's your ingame character name so I can find you?
Good to know you'll be contributing.

Maq is Mick, one of the four people who run the Nation Wars...
May 27, 2007 Cunjo link
Well he's running it alone this week. Sorry, but I'm out. I won't be showing for NW, and the prize can be back down to 2Mcr. The Itani are being such assholes online right now that I've completely lost my cool, and am signing off. You in particular slime. go fuck yourself.
May 27, 2007 maq link
Ok, i'll run it then.

Today's first Nation War happened at 21:05GMT.

Itani won.

I don't have any logs sorry.

There will be second war after LMS.

edit: Today's Nation Wars were sponsored by PA and CLM.

Second NW...

15 UIT vs 8 Itani vs 3 Serco (including me, actually UIT, but fighting for Serco).

HEY GUYS, GUESS WHO WON?
May 27, 2007 slime73 link
Itani, with only 1 casualty! :D

EDIT: and there were only 6 Itani, not 8.
