Shipping companies suspects in transportation blackmarket goods

Dec 13, 2006 UIT Customs link
UIT Customs are now on Code yellow alert for the following two shipping companies who have been caught shipping unmarked and stolen goods. Christianson Distribution Company (CDC) and Sigma Shipping Company (SSC). Both shipping companies have to pass cargo inspection through any part of UIT space. After a random inspection of two vessels piloted by the two various shipping companies. One which was from CDC and the other was SSC. Both pilots are currently in custody of UIT for further questioning. Pilot of CDC did confess to buying stolen goods at a Corvus station. No name has yet been released of the pilot suspected of dealing stolen and blackmarketed goods. Pilots names from both companies are also withheld due to the sensitive matter of this situation and possible termination from the shipping company itself.

UIT Customs have also released this information to The Viper's (VPR) to help aide in this investigation by searching all shipping companies vessels especially CDC and SSC. We also have on record a statement made by a witness, who has claimed to have seen a pilot of CDC in Verasi C-2 attacking a Valent cargo vessel . No further information was given towards this matter.

CDC and SSC are currently prohibited from further shipments until this investigation has been closed.

Funny, one would think the leaders of said Companies would be contacted first not last, as the case is here.

No names? Oh hmm gee, I should just take your word then. You are "UIT Customs" after all. Say, may I see your indentification?

Duon't have it? Oh, big surprise. Recent intel says the Cargo Liberation Movement likes to masquerade as other entities such As the Corvus News Network and now UIT Customs. CLM has also been known to bribe others when not doing the dirty work themselves.

I must say, you boys really do run your mouths better than you fight wars.

I expect letters of marque from [VPR] on my desk pronto, authorizing me to act against this new pirate threat posed by [CDC] and [SSC]!

Umm excuse me Erik, but I am the only CLM member around the forums as far as I know and I am not this Uit whosit. Do you honestly think we give a damn about who transports what? We are friggen pirates, other than the fact that it makes CDC look no better than what you accuse us of, I find it highly amusing.

As for CNN, it is not a CLM member either, we have our plates full as it is without prancing around with a bajillion RP alts.

As for the war, every night I have been involved CLM was the last one to leave the sector, while you and the rest ran off for sleep or whatever..so dont preach about how we fight wars, since obviously we have carried the battles. At least we stay til the very end, we know we can sleep enough when we are dead.

By your thinking, every time RL gets in the way, the other side wins. In which case, you boys at CLM really have to patrol Latos better seeing as 20 hours out of every day there's no one there but the echoes of Free Trade and Traders.

Erik, you going to boink your RP wife, is NOT RL getting in the way..ok? Its you taking off to play in IRC while you try to preach to everyone else.

You mean you're going back to the way things were? Ah, I think I said that too, Trailox! As long as I'm not contacted by the Union, "it's definitely not one of our guys" ;P

UIT customs? This must be somebody that is nobody. No contact information. No ability to prove or enforce anything. Effectively a non entity.

This entire thread is a non event. A non entity accused two unnameable pilots without providing any proof or verification.

There are no facts, no evidence, no witnesses. Even if it happened, it didn't happen.

Thread dead.

Yeah, unless this guy proves he's really from customs, then its best to disregard anything he says. Hell, even if he is who he claims to be, he might be outside his sphere of jurisdiction on this matter. That, of course, assumes that CDC and SSC are guilty, which seems unlikely given their reputation (although not necessarily impossible).

Dear Dr. Lecter,

You are here by authorized to 'splode your own ship within UIT space, free trade lanes, and unmonitored space. Assistance can be provided in this matter if so desired. Furthermore, any knowledge that you are not 'sploding your ship by your own accord, will incite active searches from Viper patrols for the purpose of providing kindly reminders to 'splode your ship.

Thank you for your time,
Millennium Blackhawk
Lieutenant, The Vipers

Personally, I do not feel that the trading of goods purchased from Corvus is an act of piracy. Any requests from UIT Customs will be measured against The Vipers' charter. Any actions to be taken by The Vipers will be in accordance of this charter.

Good day. :)

Sigh.

Nice try, fellas. I suppose that *is* about the best hope a VPR has of 'ploding my ship, though.
