The HIVE, long rumored to be not only a once-gone-bad Artificial Intelligence but also, more recently, it's also been suggested that the 3 nations are controlling or exerting some control over the Hive, and evidence of this activity may finally be in our grasp.

For those of you unfamiliar with the HIVE, it is a bastard child of human ingenuity, sent packing when it stopped doing whatever anyone wanted, and decided to go it's own way. Since then, it has stolen technology from wherever it found it. But how did they get shields?

It's been released that all capital class spacecraft will now be shielded. How did the HIVE get it so fast?
