LeberMac received the message via subspace link to [IA]'s Deep Blue . He knew Jimmy would have to do this by himself.
Before the ex-Lieutenant could leave, LeberMac placed a homing beacon on his old Warthog. At least, this way, he could hang back and determine the system where these kidnappers were.
Fearing the worst, LeberMac sharpened his blades and made sure he had enough ammo to fight a small war, just in case avenging anyone's death was necessary.

Jimmy knew he had to get to metana. He brought up his navigation console and looked. He figured he could attempt a jump from sedina, to metana, but it has never been done before.
Everyone used the worm holes between the systems to travel. Some had spoken of a undiscovered worm holes. Some of which would only stay open for a few minutes at a time. There was rumor of a large energy reading, or rather, a lack of one in one of the outskirt sectors of sedina.
Jimmy went to investiage and after hours of aimless flying around in the sector, he found it. A small worm hole, just large enough for his warthog to jump through.
Now even though worm holes have a definite location that they will transport you do, there was experimental technology going around that would allow you to "force" a worm hole to drop you somewhere else. It was EXTREMLY dangerous, and untested.
But Jimmy HAD to get sofia and her family. He flipped the safety covers off the toggle switches above his head in his warthog. He then flipped them on 1 by 1, each time the ship rumbled louder and louder as he prepaired for the jump.
Then, with 1 last final look at the picture of his beloved wife, Jimmy pounded the activate button, and his warthog went shooting into the worm hole and disppeared.
Once in-transit, he activated the experimental device, and plotted a corse for a outskirt sector for metana. He pressed the activate button and warthog writhed violently and then shot off in another direction then the flow of the worm hole's interspace travel.
Once in transit to metana his warthog began to raddle violetly. The old ship was falling apart. Alarms were going off all over the ship, the engine was over heating, the protective shilding on the ship was melting and pieces were beginning to fall off.
Jimmy knew he had very little time left, but what could he do, there was no way to stop the ship, if he attempted to leave the interspace travel he was in, he could end pu having his atoms split up over the whole galexy.
What would he do, he looked at the picture of his wife, put his head between his legs. And prayed, hoped, begged for something to happen. He concentrated with all his strength trying to save his own life inorder to save the life of the one he loved.
Just then, the ship began to decompress, a small hole had opened in the right side of the ship. But just then, a strange blue hue began to surround Jimmy....

BOOM! The warthog exploded in a tremendous ball of fire! A blue ball flew out of the ball of fire and left a blue streak behind it!
He had created around himself a force field. It seems that in a time of dire need his mind ascended to the next level and he has gained the ability to create a force field around his body and fly through space to his destination.
(trust me, that's possible, it's in the backstory. The whole making a shield around ones body and the flying around I just assumed. Although they never we're able to maintain it for a long time. The only reason I am able to, is because I was in dire need, and as you'll see, I won't be able to do it again)

He was extremely weakened by the travel and generation of a force field and propelling himself thousands of light years through space.
He was so greatly weakened all he could do was groan and rollover and pass out.
He awoke an unknown amount of time later and rose to his feet. He was still weak but he was alive.
He quietly made his way about of the bay to the main concourse.
The bay seemed to be completely abandoned.
But these people did not leave on their own will. There were dozens of scorch marks on the walls.
But there were no bodies....the serco must have cleaned up good.
He rounded the corner and made his way to the main concourse which is where he figured sofia and her family were being held. Just as he turned the corner he saw them.
There they were, holding sofia and her family hostage. But something was wrong, sofia had a small gash on her right cheek, and a small crimson trickle of blood was running from it.
Just as Jimmy's blood began to boil, he noticed something else out of place.
On the floor there was a serco body in a pool of blood. His head was not facing the correct way, in fact, it appeared to have been almost completely twisted around and there was a very large gash on his neck from which a small trickle of blood was still flowing.
A small grin made it's way in to Jimmy's face. Sofia was by no means helpless. But she and her family were still easy overpowered by the many serco there, but apparently one of them had fallen to Sofia.
