I've left IDF. I'm just bored with VO. I'm going to be alot less active in the future so I wanted to leave the guild and give someone else my position.
Also I'm about to start some controvercy on the VO forums and in game and I don't want IDF held accountable for my actions.

Some people have a problem with power and privilege. They don't have it and want it badly.
Sometimes it can come out in constructive ways, such as organizing events, parties, or maybe sports of some sorts. The person then gets a bit of his need to control fulfilled, making buddies along the way. Everyone thinks he's an alright guy, if a bit dominating, but you know what, it's alright because he's got everyone's best interests in mind. The person gets his or her pat on the back, two minutes of fame, and a reputation of a leader sort of person. Sometimes it stops here.
Other times the person can't get enough. He starts a career in politics, even though he really isn't any good. Now, the voters see that and obviously pass him up for someone more fitted to fill a leadership role. Obviously, the guy isn't happy, but he keeps it down, perhaps becoming a bit more condescending in the hopes that someone else starts believing him in that he's better than them. But that's not enough, especially when you consider that Mr. Firefighter dave and his firefighter buddies are the life of the party at the local bars. The guy might try and associate himself with dave, but that's not working out to well, him being fairly inexperienced in the business of fire fighting. Feeling a bit of jealousy, this mister mystery person starts viewing dave and the firefighters as a wall between himself and the alpha male position. Surely with Dave discredited Mr. Person will be the only available choice for the coveted position of power. In a delusional state, Mr. Person hatches a diabolical plan to undermine the firefighter's social position. See, if these firefighters are incapable of fulfilling their roles as firefighters, there is obviously no reason to respect them, so what ought one do to help the firefighters fail?
Why, set fires of course! Now, to any reasonable person this idea is rather ludicrous, but let's keep in mind that Mr. Person isn't acting very rational right now. He is blinded by his jealousy of the respect and idolization dave the firefighter receives from the townspeople. And so Mr. Person starts setting fires.
From here, there are two ways the situation can go. One is Mr. Person's plan works and the firefighters are unable to keep up with the fires breaking out all over the town. Building after building goes up in flames and family after family looses their homes and everything they own. Perhaps a building next to the one initially ignited catches fire, since the firefighters can't keep up as it is. Next, a whole block burns down, killing a few people in the process. Soon enough, the whole town burns to the ground, leaving nothing but charred bodies and hundreds of homeless people with nowhere to go and nothing to eat, left to die by Mr. Person because of his jealousy.
The second, and by far more likely happenstance, is that after a couple of houses go up in flames Mr. Person is found out. The firefighters put out the flames with no problems and apprehend the miscreant, only heightening the respect of their peers for them. Mr. Person is thrown in jail where he spends the rest of his short and miserable life, accompanied by murderers and rapists the whole time. No-one of the community ever thinks of him again except with a leer of disgust on their face. Just the thought of Mr. Persons name makes them want to spit the sick taste from their mouth and praise the firefighters.
What am I trying to say here?
I don't know your motives. I don't know your thoughts, and I don't even know your intentions. But I do know that it is no-one's interest to have a firestarter around.

Well said genka.
Regardless of motive or intention (or lack thereof), is it me or are there a lot of people jumping off the HMS IDF lately?
IA still supports IDF

genka: i think you took my post to the extreme. I haven't done anything yet. Please can you wait till i do something before you condem me.
I still support IDF. I think that any itani who wants to be apart of a great guild and defenced Itani's should join up. Its a great group of people. I was in it for about 5 months and i never had a problem with any of the people in the guild.
The only reason I ended my membership was because I want to take my in game charater a diffent way, at least for now. By leaving i'm protecting the players i love to be around.
jexkerome: IDF is doing a clean up like most other guilds have recently. They are trying to get rid of some of the most inactive members, as all guilds should do every so often. They have lost some of thier long time players, not because they don't want to be in the guild anymore, but because they don't want to play VO at all. Even with all the recent changes, after spending montths or years in this game I understand how someone would want to leave it and move on to something more interesting to them.
In conclusion JOIN IDF NOW you'll be glad you did :)
JB
Edit: Or join IA or anyother guild you want to. Jjust be happy with the guild you choose. and remember you can always leave and join another one if you want too. :)

People have begged to try things on a test server, and BEHOLD! Test server access. People ask for more content, and BEHOLD! Hive updates. People ask for new and varied missions, and BEHOLD! A brand new, shiny mission editor that will make it happen MUCH more quickly and easily. There's even some *small* improvement of in-game content as we speak, but I'll let people discover that on their own. Bored? Oookay.

FM: I'm surprised by your post. You are usually the voice of reason on these forums. You are not usually the one that makes statements to bring a thread off topic. And you are usually less sarcastic then your last post.
These are the reasons that come to mind why someone could get bored in VO:
1: Because of numerous changes the initial reason they joined doesn’t exist anymore.
2: They don’t have the time or energy to be as involved in the game because of real world interests
3: Because of all the changes it’s just not fun anymore (not talking about the rules of conduct here :)
4: Other newer games interest them more right now.
5: Because some or all of their friends left they aren’t having as much fun. (I know they could make new friends but they would leave too)
6: They really aren’t interested in the upcoming, or past, changes to the game.
I could go on but there is no need to. People get bored for various reasons all the time. Please note the reasons given above have nothing directly to do with Guild Software or the guides or really any other players (except #5). Just like anything its personal preference. Some people like the new changes and some don’t. There are some people who don’t care about any of the things you mentioned in your last post.
I realize you can’t please all the people all the time, we’re not asking you too. But you have no right to make sarcastic statements about people who are bored either.
I’ve been in this game for about 9 months now. And that is the longest I’ve ever played any game. I’ve found myself spending 99% of my time in station just chatting recently. I’m not leaving the game I’m just scaling back my involvement and I’m going to do other things that interest me more right now. I’m sorry if you feel I don’t have the right to be bored, but I think I do.
PS: Please don’t lock the post because we went a little off topic. We’re going back now.
PSS: Please un sticky my thread here thanks:

Genka: I forgot to say one thing in my last post. I hope you aren’t saying I’m “Mr. Person”, because I’m nothing like that. I’ve voluntarily given up my two posts of “power”, I wasn’t fired. As lieutenant of IDF I had some “power” that I very rarely used. By resigning from the guild I lost that. The other post I had was of Supreme commander of the Itani forces. By canceling the next couple, and not really participating in the last couple, of battles I gave that up too.
JB
PS: Please stay on subject so I don’t get in any further trouble. Thanks :)

Excellent post, Genka.
genkas posts keep on amazing me every time he makes a new one. In one you think he is a genius, in the other you think he is a fool. But it will always have a hint of minty freshness and humour/sarcasme/irony.
And im not saying anything else :D
EDIT: contrary to the other posts, i felt like a fool since I ddin't understand a biggitus from what he meant.

I'd just add to Jestatis' comments here because I fully concur and i'm on the same wagon.
I've moved to another MMOG.
VO is and always will be my favorite because one's progression in this game isn't bent on how much of a life they don't have.. but instead by one's giftedness or persistance to become more skilled.
Although, VO right now is not even in the competition as far as content and replay value. compared to most MMOGs out there, VO looks like freeware. It's an acquired taste.
I will return to VO when it becomes a more full-fledged MMOG. Untill that day I'll prefer to play on servers that have more than 30 players online at any one time...

Apex get back online and go kill yoda repeatedly.
And what, Jestatis - that little post about the "rules" was you starting some s**t? C'mon! (I'll say it again) You dissapoint me! Surely you can do BETTER! (/me hands Jestatis a lighter. Go start some fires!)
And feel free to join IA. With me out of game they need someone on the boards who can take up the posting slack, I've been remiss in my duty of replying to every post.

Hehe yeah Jestatis starting stuff is like those silly movies where the good boy wants to impress the girls by being a bad boy so he like goes and walks on the grass where the sign says no walking on grass!
Should be funny to see him "go bad" none the less.
Should be funny to see him "go bad" none the less.
make with the contorversy already
yeah vo is more fun than it has ever realy been with more to do and participate in i don't see at all why people are getting bored plus if fun isent coming to you you go to the fun make a new idea have a rp vendetta with someone try to get better in combat make yourself a reputation.
and no replay value? you cant finish it so there can be no replaying so in that respect i'm sure it dosent have as much replay value as the next game.

genka : nice post. The irony is that you are often the firestarter you described with your trolling.
JB : do spice up some stuff. I don't mind evil chars in this game : makes life interesting for the rest of us.

I will never understand, that people who leave Vendetta or a guild think, that it's worth to open a thread about it ... must have something to do with an egoboost.
