numbers aren't everything... but...

the first number is mass / thrust, the second mass / spin torque, the third is length / spin torque, ordered by their mass / thrust ratio, lower being better (oh, all numbers, lower is better).

AGT + Fletch MkII Warthog mineral: 38.10 / 1142.86 / 1.43
AGT + Fletch MkII Warthog MkII: 36.67 / 1100.00 / 1.43
AGT + flare Axia Guardian Wraith: 35.43 / 1305.26 / 1.37
Tri-flare / rail MkIII Corvus Maud: 33.33 / 1000 / 1.71
UIT Warthog, AGT + N2: 33.18 / 1042.86 / 1.43
AGT + Fletch MkII Atlas MkII: 32.86 / 1210.53 / 1.47
Posisaur, tri positron Aggresso: 33.00 / 1100.00 / 1.20
Posisaur, tri positron Centaur MkIII: 32.29 / 1107.14 / 1.29
Tri-rail MkII Corvus Maud: 30.48 / 914.29 / 1.71
AGT + XGX Atlas X: 28.67 / 895.83 / 1.17
Tri-flare or tri-rail MkIII IDF Valk: 27.27 / 857.14 / 1.71
AGT + flare, Prom MkII: 25.90 / 1133.33 / 1.75
Dual flare + N2, IDF Valk: 25.45 / 800.00 / 1.71
Dual flare SVG Vult: 24.68 / 773.338 / 1.60
AGT + flare SC: 23.72 / 924.14 / 1.45
Rev C with Axia posis: 19.09 / 600.00 / 1.43

oh, in case you wondered:
MGC: 50.35 / 2140.00 / 1.90
Orion Hornetzor: 43.64 / 1371.43 / 2.43
Moth Proxy-miner: 60.00 / 1736.84 / 2.00
Orion Hornet, unloaded: 25.45 / 800.00 / 2.43

numbers aren't everything, but I do think this does points out some rather "interesting" statistics. the BLAK ship and weapon database can produce any ship / layout combo with ease, if anyone has anything they want me to add, let me know.

O.o, where can I play with the BLAK database?

Also, although it's not a big deal, it is more traditional to do thrust/mass ratios w/ thrust on the top, the reason being in Newtonian physics thrust/mass equals the acceleration, which is usually what you want to know.

What can I say, I thought you were nuts al, but having a look at the beta has made me think hmmmmm, why is a centaur an effective combat ship (and I do not mean the agresso), why can an atlas beat a hog? (in pure numbers this doesnt mean anything, but after playing with the results of the db today, I actually see what your point is)
Apr 09, 2005 softy2 link
Hahaha!

I won't beat on the dead horse of the uber-prom. But....

The AGT-Atlas out-strafes everything else, including the Rev C. Now wonder that thing looks like a peanut on crack! [Btw : I was on spacecrack when I wrote that, which is clearly a false statement.]

[EDIT : on the mass/thrust, I agree with Beolach...except that we will get a bunch of decimals, which is kinda annoying. Perhaps $mass/times \times 100$...]

[EDIT on EDIT : Anybody knows how to get insert latex script here?]

Devs, your on SpaceCrack =/

Tri-flare + rail mkIII IDF Valk? ;)

How about a dual flare + neut MK III Valk... see how that works out.

I want to see an AGT+Flechette II Warthog Mineral Extractor, an AGT+Flechette II Warthog Mk2, and an AGT+Flechett II Atlas Mk3.

Even on numbers, I'll bet the Atlas wins.

Starfisher :

I think that is the stats for tri-flare OR tri-rail valk, both rail Mk3 and flare is 1000kg in mass.

Dual flare + N2, IDF Valk: 25.45 / 800.00 / 1.71
AGT + Fletch MkII Warthog mineral: 38.10 / 1142.86 / 1.43
AGT + Fletch MkII Warthog MkII: 36.67 / 1100.00 / 1.43
AGT + Fletch MkII Atlas MkII: 32.86 / 1210.53 / 1.47
Posisaur, tri positron Centaur MkIII: 32.29 / 1107.14 / 1.29
Posisaur, tri positron Aggresso: 33.00 / 1100.00 / 1.20

added to the list.

oh, the reason I use mass / thrust and not the other way around is that mass / thrust lets all numbers have the goal of being low. just do 1/x to invert it, if you please.

BLAKs, the web interface now produces mass / thrust and (thrust / mass) * 100 to pad some decimals.

as for access to the web interface, well, hm, I'm not sure. it's trivial for me to make it accessible. I can see what to do about it.

heya terkjev,

calculate the gauss + jack layout and the plasmadev + sunflare layout please on an atlas.

cheers
Apr 11, 2005 Eldrad link
man, I only ever calculated this for the best proms, valks, cents, vults, hogs, and busses with N3s, or an AGT.
Apr 12, 2005 terjekv link
Atlas X, plasma dev MkII / sunflare: 30.40 / 950.00 / 1.17
Atlas MkII, same layout: 33.43 / 1231.58 / 1.47

gauss MkII / jack produce the same numbers. both weapon layouts weigh 2200 kgs (1000 + 1200).

Eldrad, I have a web thingy that I can just choose ship and weapons from, and a database with all ships and all weapons, with all the stats we have available. it's just a matter of selecting stuff in pull-down menus.
Apr 12, 2005 Beolach link
Any chance you'll tell us where we can access it, or are you going to make us make our own? We might not, you know. We might just keep bugging you. ;-)

the weight and armor for the Aggresso was b0rken, fixed now.

people who want access to this stuff can message me ingame for access to a beta-site.

Numbers are hard.

ya, I've just got a spread sheet with pretty much the same functionality. With out the large accessibility. You can do empty slots right?

have a blast. report any bugs you find.

Great!

(not a bug, but still: Axia specials are available at +600)

thanks, fixed. Andy was, uhm, very helpful. I'll update the db with all good values soon[tm].
