Incarnate's said in the past that there will be some sort of a defection ability. However, everything I've read said that Orion et al are non-playable subfactions. Hmm?

If you were able to become unaligned, it would imply that you could next become aligned with a faction after gaining positive standing. That would be a neat way to change factions.

Now I dont want to switch faction, I'm not UIT material, and im definatly not Itani, unaligned sounds about right to me, maybe one day I will be Serco again, and I would like that option too.

Im thinking unalinged means my situation, not just killing your *own* faction should be enough. (and I hope for agreement here, -601 in the three main factions isnt an easy choice, it should not be easy)

It would be interesting if whatever your highest faction was determined how you were aligned. So if I get high Corvus and then bomb all my other factions, I'd show up as Corvus aligned.

Role play does cross real life:

Example one.
Your a cop, you start dealing drugs, you get found out, your a drug dealer now, not a cop.

Example two.
Your working for company a, but company b offers you more money to work for them.

Example three.
Your a normal john doe, something happens in your life that makes you a hero, or whatever.

Example four.
Your some guy, sitting in a basement, with a plan, or several concerning a computer game, a does not work, you go for b.

Some were good points, esp. the one about cop/drug dealing. Note that, in most societies, changing from one class to another may be irreversible [in many places, a former drug dealer cannot become a cop again, for example].

Some nations force one to renounce one's citizenship if one wishes to take on citizenship in another nation. I wonder how many of those nations permit one to become a citizen once again, after one had renounced citizenship.

This does bring up a good question. Say I was born UIT but my heart really lies with serco, after taking out enough UIT and Itani I would like to get some kind of a reward from the Serco, perhaps in the form of a petition to gain citizenship. Then after a period of time I could become officially sworn in as Serco renounceing all my rights as UIT. Conder the petion to change faction as a trial period to "prove" my loyalty to what I want my new homeland to be.

I've been hated everywhere but corvus for almost a month now...

So was degobar, I suppose it makes sense in a way, but degobar died, and got reborn as my bus char =p

But still (and i have done it a few times, maybe because of the current radar red dot system) I can sneak up on a Serco, and because they see me Serco, they just think im a red dot because I have been before.

For example, while +1000 Serco I was a red dot to a fellow Serco pilot in UIT space because I was KOS there.

I should be unalined, or even pirate. I can (and would if there was more) pirate Serco.

I could swear i've seen uncledave fly around being xang xi alligned somewhere last month. It was strange, I saw a character without a * in front of his name in white in my list, so that confused me, I opened up the list again to have a better look and yes, I positivily saw UncleDave as Xang Xi alligned. Anyone care to explain, maybe you UncleDave

Well I am going to fix my Serco standing, basically because I still see more Itani, and UIT than Serco, and the Serco I do see are old timers, I need to re-add my number to Serco (the lack of new Serco needs fixing, but I dont know how...)

But saying that I have managed to suprise quite a few Serco pilots recently, and get a few free kills, me being -601 Serco should make me Serco(Pirate) at least when a Serco targets me, if i feel so inclined
