Outage tonight.
See newspost. We'll be taking down the webserver, and doing some maintenance/migration to the update servers as well. Starting at midnight CST, and hopefully wrapping up in less than an hour or so. The actual game server itself should be unaffected, but if you try connecting to update, that might not work during the maintenance period. FYI.
Yay maintenance! That doesn't mean your upgrading them right? It just means your going to have a quake III lan party and need to borrow the servers for an hour :)

During the upgrade, the recurring billing script ran and it turned out that due to some stupid OS library incompatibility, it couldn't talk to the credit card clearinghouse, so a few people had their accounts expire instead of renew. And now, due to some stupid firewall problem, we can't get back into the machine (although it apparently runs just fine..) so I can't fix those accounts before they become expired.
So around seven subscribers will need to log into the website and re-enter their CC info. My apologies for the inconvenience. I'd fix it now if I could. *sigh*

Except you can't, because https apparently doesn't work. Shit.
How will those subscribers know if they have to re-enter their info... seems like an obvious question, but I thought that I'd ask anyways. Thx.
When you log into the game, it says your subscription has ended.
Okay, the SSL portion of the website is fixed.

That error probably means that the machine's up, but the software isn't. Why would the update server be down, though? It was supposed to be maintenance last night at midnight for one hour, not 16 hours.
That Garbage Truck O'Doom™ is sure getting a workout this week.
How would one go about starting vendetta without the updater on a windows computer.(my friend has one and she might want to know).
Move to the C:\Program Files\Vendetta Online directory. Copy vendetta.rlb to v.exe. Start v.exe. Da.
Argh. Back up. And now the DNS records are right, too.
