question about guids
Vendetta is actually the first mmorpg that i play. I'm building an image of everything, what it is and what it does, but can someone explain to me the purpose of guids please. Why are they in game and what can they do?
now there are 2 possible things you mean by guids. Guides or Guilds. So ill cover all the bases and do both.
Guides are there to moniter the chat (enforce rules and mute those who disobey the rules, which are very light in vendetta) and they also alert the developers if there is something wrong with the server.
Guilds are basicly large groups of players who unite under a common goal or interest. Currently the only benefit to having a guild is you get guild chat, which allows all guild members to chat with each other on a secure channel. Eventually you may (note: I am not a developer so everything I am about to say may not become reality) be able to buy capital ships, stations, and other cool little goodies with your guild.

Like silent said, atm, when you think guild, think clan, but a lil rp can go a long way in vendetta...
...Lots is planned, I just hope there are enough of us to make it so =D

oops, big bad spelling error :) It was the guides I meant in my question. Sorry, english is not my native language.
What happened to the Sercp Armed Forces? They are the backbone of the Serco nation!!!
In the game, the Guides do monitor chat, as silentsuicide said. We do speak to pilots who become verbally abusive (*) to other players and can mute, kick or ban players who won't change their behaviour. We also listen to the chat so that we can answer questions and help out new players. We test things when we're asked, and we inform the game developers when bugs or exploits are found.
On the website we answer questions and attempt to maintain the forums by moving, locking or deleting posts.
* Just a reminder that the chat filter is there so that pilots can avoid hearing casual swearing if they want to. Some people mix profanity into casual conversation, and the chat filter is there to filter out the profanity if you don't want to hear it. Verbally abusing players - directing profanity (or offensive racial/ethnic or sexual comments) at another player - is NEVER permitted. Continued verbal abuse after a warning will result in temporary muting.

I'm a guide and I spend a lot of time on channel 1 answering questions. I work on getting new players into the game and help them get used to the game controls and mission system. I also encourage roleplaying, explain how to earn a license and share information about dueling, joining guilds and CtC.
I also will file reports with the Devs on things that happen in game like concerns over an offensive player name, or a player using an explot, etc.
I'm sure you'll see my messages about the help channel in-game when I'm available.

ok, thanks. Thought you guys allso organised in-game events and stuff.
We've done a little of that and hope to do more soon.
Yes they have, and a guide event would, and can invite a lil mystery, if said alpha players didnt spoil it =D but then again, a guide can create a new char, and zap up its abilities, and for a guide event, needed =D just try to make em more neutral =p Serco Monk =p
