Neutral CtC participation for fun and profit
I haven't been in-game too frequently recently, but the times I've been on I have seen a *lot* of UIT (or "rogue agent" you know who you are your name begins with "S" and ends with "hape") getting and then auctioning UIT cargo. I just want to say this is awesome to see. I always thought this was the right way to go for UIT, and I am so happy to see it in action. I hope this becomes a CtC tradition.
So, to Serco and Itani: please, please, please when a neutral party gets the cargo fairly and outwits initial capture, they deserve to be paid. Pay them a fair price, take the cargo, and leave the game so much better because of it.

Why thank you! You may have a 5% discount and a lovely coupon book with your next purchase (worth over 1,000 creds at local restaurants and entertainment venues!).
It makes sense to pay them. That way they might sell to you in the future.
Deserving doesn't factor in :P

one thing I really don't like though is people I can't kill grabbing the cargo if I shoot the transport, then turning around to sell it. I haven't had it happen to me personally, but I've seen it happen.
also, define a "fair price".

I sell cargo at a starting price of 15k per ton. This way it still hurts the UIT to buy from me, (I think they can get 6k per ton at the station) it also alows me to take the price down a bit and still come out good if I have to. I do have may kinds of discounts but the only way you'll find out about it is if you buy from me some. :D
Oh and wylfing: I love you :D let me know if I try to priate you some time, and I'll try to stop my self :D

terjekv: That's why I said "gets the cargo fairly." Ninja-looting the cargo isn't fair, and those people deserve an ambush, not a payment. And if you can't ambush them, at least refuse to pay.
Borb II: You are welcome to try and pirate me any time you like :P The only time I was successfully pirated was by Tal Ra when I as a very green newbie. But more on topic: I'm not advocating a market for CtC cargo just to be philanthropic to BL and UIT. It's self-serving as well. If there's a market, then traders can swing the balance of CtC just by have a lot of cash, which adds a nice extra dynamic to the situation.

Where the hell is Tal ra ?? one of the finest CLM, Long live the CLM =D
The main reason us pirates started selling cargo is because its a helluva lot better way to make money than pirating individual traders. As for price, its negotiable usually, but ranges anywhere from 6000-12000/unit (those are far from set in stone)
Well as one who has purchased cargo, I see it this way, if you buy it, you do several things. You get the cargo where you want it to go,if your all the way across the galaxy when the transports are announced..you dont miss out. All in all, I think its great,as for what a fair price is from a purchasers point of view...whatever Im willing to pay,if its less than what they want, I either try to haggle, or I say no thanks. :-)
I'd like to say a special thank you to the Itani who bought my 14 units last night. I haven't haggled like that in ages and it was good fun. :D
I bet that was a chunk-o-change. (It wasn't me. I'm pulling 14-hour workdays this week.) Oddly, or perhaps not oddly, it's also fun slapping a hundred grand down on the barrel like it was pocket money.
