(Finally). Heheh. So anyway.. yeah.. more news to come as Soon(tm) as possible.
That Wiki idea is pretty awesome... no longer will people be in the dark over what is and isnt planned :D
Which means a happier playerbase and new users that will pay because they see what kind of cool stuff is in the works.
This Great Game Spec Redux or whatever sounds uh... intriguing. :P

wow. that all sounds really great. not just the specifics of what you plan to do (which sound pretty right on), but also making the game's development public through the wiki. it sounds like a great way to capitalize on one of this game's greatest strengths -- the interaction between devs and players in its ongoing development.
i think people also respond to the fact that guild software is a small, independent team that's not afraid to do things differently. we want you to succeed!

Wow. Just wow.
Like everyone, I was interested in the future of the game, but this In Progress is beyond all of my expectations. I'm dying to see the specs, and what you have in store for us. A lot of things will be clear, at last, and suggestions will be more focused, a benefit for all.
Hronek is right, it's the interaction between the devs and the player that is the greatest strenght of VO. I know no other game with this concept, and that is a strong motivation to stay a _long_ time.
Keep up the good work like that, and I give a year to VO to rock the world of MMORPG!

Cause you guys know EVERYTHING and it's some friggin ubertastic stuff. I can't wait, this is the reason I keep playing vendetta, to see what is to come and enjoy it!

Let's all agree not to freak out if we don't like something we see in those docs.

whow. here I was thinking "well, apart from CtC and the trade missions, what is there but PvP"? and then this comes along. damn.
oh, a friend just got an almost free EvE-subscription, so we played some EvE yesterday. a few interesting things cropped up:
1) if Vendetta _ever_ gets an interface like that, I'll personally disasseble the client to fix it. I mean honestly. CCP never understood the concept of different interfaces for different tasks, everything is a window or a tab or a pane _somewhere_. I mean, Vendetta manages to keep everything you need for moving around on the HUD at all times. you don't have to turn things on and off to see where the hell you're going. sigh. that was depressing.
2) it took 6 hours to patch the client from the CD to the latest version. the auto update didn't work, it just hung, so we had to download a 144MiB (or so) update at <10KiB / second. that was fun. and _then_ we needed to wait for the autoupdate to do the latest patching.
3) skills. right. it's very nice to have a complicated skill tree. it's something else when your first thought is "mmmmmmmmmmmokay". and the second is the realization that gaining skills is less interesting that _botting_. no offense to Guild software, but it's fairly impressive to make something so tedious that I started botting on a different computer to feel like I was doing something. :-)
4) stability? what stability? Vendetta has crashed once for me. in a month and a half of way too much playing time. EvE didn't autoupdate, crashed, locked objects, caused glitches here and there. very nice indeed. and the box in question does _not_ have hardware issues. sigh.
quite frankly, I'm honestly depressed at it. compare budgets between EvE and Vendetta. compare manpower. EvE has more content, yes, but from my end, that's the only thing it has over Vendetta. someone should write a paper on software development and talk to Guild. :-)
bottom line, YAY for Guild!

you forgot to say that
EVE has the freaking damn beautiful graphic!
but the "fight system" suck and very boring.
while VO has an existing "fight system" based on player skill.
i do no want to see VO become an leveling character game.
XP = a tool to get stuffs but not an obligation.

the visuals in EvE are good. heck, they're amazing. but so what? I don't pay a steady fee every month for a screensaver. :-)
EVE Comes into the conversation?
EVE = The Interactive Screen Saver, Online...
Apart from vendetta has Dev. team that cares (too much some times, but hey, different lines are drawn all the time, and its still kool - I have never seen a Dev. team like this)
Vendetta is different on too many levels for me to mention to other space mmo's, ie: -no- dice rolling here. In comparison to most the games released, im biased I suppose being an alpha tester, but saying that, vendetta is -not- the only game i've tested, but I didnt just -test- vendetta I payed for it. Why will I will be here in six months, a year, and more, infact, as long as it lives?
Because its a great game, developed by a great team, with a great community.

ok, that is about the most awesome In-Progress I have seen since you announced the new universe.
WTG.
This is definitely why I continue to pay for and support vendetta
