Winning CTC . . .

Jan 23, 2005 nuthou5e link
Yes, the Itani won CTC this last week after a five week drought. There were many players that made this possible and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of them. There was also a greater number of participants on CTC to make this possible, and I am grateful and hopeful that this trend will continue.

However, I cannot help but feel this to be a hollow victory. There was a recognized attempt to take it easy on the Itani, perhaps out of pity, perhaps out of concern of alienating players and causing damage to the game. The new trade missions may also have been a distracting factor.

Whatever the causes may have been, I feel that the dedicated Itani players must learn from this past week. It is a fact that there are more Serco veteran players than Itani or UIT. I do not say this as a complaint. I state it as a reason for all regular Itani players to try that much harder to get organized and use our numbers to overcome the veteran factor. It can be done and there are movements that I will not mention here to get the Itani more organized, trained, and active at this obviously key aspect of this game. It is what will keep this game fun, healthy, and innovative into the future.

It is not just the developers responsibilty to create new dimensions to this game, it is ours as well.

So... do we all get neut3s for trying?

I'd like to take all the credit for this. So I will :p

Serrously though that was the best CtC week I've ever played as far as fun and partisipation goes towards the end of Saturday we had many large scale fights that we just a blast.

Congratulations to the Itani nation on their decisive victory in CtC. May your crops grow tall, your stock dividends pay off handsomely, and your children all rebel against you and become Republicans. :-Þ

Congratulations Itani.

I guess those dire predictions about how Itani was going to be crushed in CtC due to the Prom changes were a bit premature.

Yay.

Nuthou5e...maybe post these ideas on the itani-only message board...?

Forum moderator, the Itani were being crushed because of the new prom changes. There were about six serco veterans all in proms taking every transport. Luckily, they were too late. Congrats Itani, but we still need to work harder. Perhaps look at the Itani-only message board for listing tips and getting organized.

I was offline about 50% of the day yesterday, and I have to agree with Kepler.

It seemed as though originally we lost about 100, kind of a "Hah hah look what we can do" and the numbers dwindled. Then later the day it was more of "Meh. Get some more neu3's, we're still better and we know it"

guess this means we serco get to keep the prom ....... :)

It still has to be nerfed a bit, but yeah, we'll see....

I think by the next update i two day, things will look good on both sides..

Go Itani and Go dev's!!

Celebrate now, because it will never, ever happen again.

OK, that's too dramatic. But the fact was a lot of Sercos switched to their Itani alts throughout much of the week.

I switched to an Itani alt for about 30 seconds... :P

Congrats to the Itani. This next week will be interesting :).

I don't see how the Itani were being "crushed" by the "uberness" of the proms. They're not uber. They're just useful. Seriously. Before, they were basically just floating bricks. Sitting targets for the Itani to potshot. Now they can acually maneuver ("wow!") and can get energy shots to their targets. Let's face it: this is a different ballgame now. The Serco are technologically coming to terms with the Itani. It's now time to see whose skill will win out.

It isn't the proms, they didn't get those back till late in the week.

OK, unless there is the rally of the century, the Itani are not going to win this week.

However, we can't just give up. We need to build up a good reserve for next week's surplus. So, although I will be at work quite a bit the next two days, I urge all Itani to do your best at building up a quality surplus.

Fight the good fight.
