Can I have a double decker bus to fly instead?
No, because then I would want a double decker bus too.

Really, what would be the point in choosing a nation (as it is) If we all had access to the same ships.
Actually you do, and if i wanted a valk that badly, i could have one in about 1 days botting, 2 to 3 days guild trade (im -1000 itani) *game time, not rl time* Giving everyone the nat specials has been debated to death i think, conclusion everytime *if your going to do that, why have nations at all?*
Back to thread topic.
After a little play with, and against the centaur.
Hmmm, its a light fighter with an eating problem, wrong on sooo many levels, but after the others get tweaked, we will see.

I personally think the centaur was about right as it was before... why should it have a huge mass? Seems like it'd be designed like a big hollow shell for holding lots of cargo. I liked how it flew decently while empty, and felt crazy heavy when loaded up.
These big combat based ships on the other hand, make sense to be heavy. Afterall, they are going to be loaded up with huge engines and armor and whatnot.
I think this is a step in the right direction, but I still think heavy ships should be slower, but have MUCH more energy (also fighters should probably have less).

Yoda said about the Centaur:
> Hmmm, its a light fighter with an eating problem [...]
you stole and broke my line! I said "The centaur is a light fighter with an eating _disorder_!" :-)

Whooaaaa. Just tried the Cent. WTF is going on here. It stops on a dime (unlike my Maud) and can outdrag me too. Even though its heavier.
ITS A FREIGHTER. Its supposed to handle like an obese whale.
Additional - Is it right that a Prom with AGT's + other weponry + CTC cargo can outrun (gained over 1000m) a Maud X with three Neut II. Ummm i thought it was suppose to be and 'Armoured Transport' not a Lamborghini LM 002.

I don't know about the Centaur, but when thinking about the prom, I found that it's very fast in straight lines. Stright forward, strafing sideways, strafing up, etc. But it's actually still slow and mushy on the turn. The description does say that it was built around a very powerful engine. It manages to have a high thrust-to-weight ratio, despite its heavy armor, but its turning thrusters remain underpowered. The trick is to not fight it on its terms. If you can get around the prom, it has a difficult time turning to compensate, and if the pilot isn't paying attention, overturns are quite easy. Just a hint.
The Centaur is probably a tad fast, these things have to be worked out. The trick is that we need to use them as much as possible to see how they balance out. Since the Centaur is intended to be a transport, it might stand to have its thrust reduced slightly.
Also, you must remember that the Marauder hasn't been balanced yet. Neither has the Warthog. But I'm sure that there will be a balance update in the near future (like hopefully in the next 12 hours /givemoney devs 5cr) that'll hopefully address them (/givemoney devs 5cr). Just please don't nerf the Mineral Extractor Warthog (/givemoney devs 50cr).

That's all well and good, but any pilot worth his medals knows how to use the inertial dampening controls to prevent overturns. Right?
Why do we need to drop the thrust on the centaur? it's still effectively worse than the prom.
I think, that maybe the Serco who have complained so ardently about us itani just not knowing how to fight heavy ships, aren't too clear on how to fight against heavy ships either.

mmm I just jumped ingame for a bit and danced with a prom and cent using fighter ships.
I must say it is quite different. But over all I see very few problems as things stand now. Yes the cent is a tad fast, but not horrible imo, it needs a bit of a tone down to a more moderate place in the ship line up.
I love the prom, it is finally not only a good ship but a great ship like it should be. Only a lot of time and fighting will tell me exactly how good because I have yet to see many good strategies for fighting it and fighting with it. When I have more time I will fall in and try to do it though.
John- very nice!
