Anyone know? I think I was at like 400 or 500 last night and got a pretty good whack. I have taken to carrying a mix of energy weapon/railgun - energy to bring her down, railgun to finish her from long distance.

But uhm, what about the range on the different weapons? Is railgun really the longest range weapon, other than missiles?

I was about 500m from that queen when she blew and I took some damage (my hog took 20-30% damage). Thunderbird was about 250m and his Vulture didn't survive. I assume that the explosion radius is dependant on some damage value that decreases linerly the farther out you are, so if you're close you take more damage than if you're near the edge of the explosion's range. If that's true, then the actual range is determined by "how far away do I have to be to take only 1 point of damage", which may not work out to a round number.

afaik the range is proportional to the velocity. Higher veolicty == longer range.

also enforced by your ships speed. I think rockets have the longest range in the game as-is.
