what is up with the whole 'race' thing?
there is a big difference between 'nation' and 'race'.
What example are you referring to? I don't think we use 'race' anywhere and if we do, then it's a mistake.
Bring back the racing sectors! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!
First thing I thought of too :).
Actually it was "hmmm :) ... Racing sectors!"

Just guessing, but I think ananzi might be refering to players calling nations races. IMO it's not that big a deal, although ananzi is of course correct & they are *not* the same. I think it's likely just that a lot of players are used to factions being different races, either fantasy (human, elf, dwarf) or sci-fi (terran, protoss, zerg).
Now, if VO ever does introduce alien races, I'd be a lot more picky about what people called a race, but as it is I don't care too much, I know what they mean.
Oh, and yeah, when are the hamster tubes coming back?

Beolach is pretty much right, right now theres no different between race and nation right now. I could see poeple being "Serco race" and "Itani race" but im not seeing "Neutral race" but hey. Maybe we should come up with a better name for neutral people considering there not very neutral, they're pretty much raging there own war.
BRING BACK THE SEWERS!
BRING BACK THE SEWERS!
I was browsing through the site and I found the term "races" used here:
http://www.vendetta-online.com/h/universe.html - the link "Races and History" and its contents.
I just came across it while browsing the site randomly, I didn't browse the whole site so perhaps it's used somewere else as well.

According to dictionary.com, a race can mean any sufficiently different group of people. It's a pretty generic term.
I just pointed it out because you wrote earlier that it's a mistake, otherwise I wouldn't have bothered :)
Heh, yeah, I suppose.
