Faction standing and missions

(Maybe this is more of a suggestion; if so feel free to move it there.)

Getting admired by any faction other than your own (i'm thinking of grey space factions) is a huge and tedious pain, mostly because the quickest way to accomplish it is hundreds of trading missions. Nonetheless, a primary endeavor for many players is getting this faction standing because it begets goodies. during one of these endless cargo runs i was thinking of interesting alternatives that wouldn't be a huge design stretch. here's one:

each faction (orion, TPG, axia, etc.) could issue daily or weekly missions against NPC traders from one or two other factions operating in grey space. the 'enemy' factions would change routinely (i.e., last week Axia was giving missions against corvus traders but this week it's against TPG), and you'd get faction standing on the order of 10pnts per kill as well as a take a standing hit with the trader's faction. this would reflect the highly dynamic and cutthroat corporate warfare that i imagine exists in greyspace. the NPC traders would't need to carry anything important; essentially the same as the swarms of atlases i noticed a couple of weeks ago which are now gone. except it would be more fun if they weren't all atlases and maybe sometimes had escorts.

so basically a faction calls in a hit, or issues a small bounty, on a competing faction's NPC ships and you get standing with them for performing that hit. what do ya'll think?

Good idea.

/me supports anything other than trading to build standing.

I'd like to see this. Another option I've thought of for faction standing would be an option when completing trade missions to decline the credits payment for a higher faction standing increase.
