How multi is multiplayer?

Nov 30, 2004 Khirsah link
As in, how much does this game REQUIRE you to group with others? Is it possible to run around soloing in it, or is it, like EQ/EQII/UO/FFXI/etc wholly requiring that I be a Team Player? Because I like the idea of an MMORPG. I just don't like the fact that someone with my schedule has difficulty ever accomplishing anything, because it happens to be FUBAR compared to the standard.

No grouping requirement whatsoever and for the most part, minimal benifit from grouping.*

In fact the only time you are required to interact with other players is if you are attacked.

*Future changes might make grouping more advantageous but I doubt they would ever take it the direction FFXI.

Even then, interaction is optional. You can always ignore them... of course, firey death and exploding ships are a common result of this course of action.

Actually, ignoring your attacker usually means you get away just fine, often without taking any damage at all.

Genka, I would like to know in which sector I may find pirates who are unable to blow me up when I ignore them.

All the pirates I've met so far have been able to blow me up just fine. [edit] Not that I'm complaining. I like pirates. [/edit]

1) Buy the fast charge battery.
2) Hold down your boost key while maneuvering slightly to avoid rockets and asteroids.
3) Good work! You outran a pie-rat!

Edit: I usually stay around the wormholes of Odia. You can meet me there if you like.

Your hard to catch and shoot, not everyone is, even with stated equipment, live with it...

But thats not ignoring an attacker, its simply not talking to them. Ignoring implies that you take no action in regards to an attacker's action, including infiniboosting away.

Well, if you're boosting anyway, then you really haven't done anything, have you?
