Things that are cool
I've been really nailing all the things that are ticking me off lately in bugs and suggestions but i'd like to talk about the stuff I like for once.
1. Mining - this is really cool i like it better than trading at the moment because when you find a good set of roids you can make a few grand a roid easy.
2. CTC - buggy as hell but still ultimately cool, once the bots behave with with the same restrictions we are bound to IE: energy, ion storms, 3k limits and full warp energy. it will be the best part of the game
3. Recon/Spy mission - This multi part mission is a perfect example of how cool things can and will get mission wise (the devs aren't going to leave us with the plain lame missions forever don't worry), kill that weirdo!
4. NPC traders - good for a quick buck sometimes.
5. The music - Itani music kinda blows but the other nations and grey areas are cool.
6. all the universe stuff, roids, sectors, stations, GTS and so on, all very nice.
7. The retail box - I have it posied on my dresser so i see it when i wake up. :)
8. Weekley updates, 2 years ago it took ages upon ages for major feature sets to get done, the framework is laid out now and things just keep going now and it is awesome, so post your suggestions because if it is good you can bet it will be implemented within a few weeks to a month or...soon ;)

#5 - I don't think Itani music blows. But you're right, one of the best things about this game is the ambient music.
well to be fair i hear itani music the most which is probably why i dont like it
The ambient music was nice for the first few dozen hours in late beta, but after a while, it gets repetitive. Then it's time to turn down the music volume to mute and fire up xmms.

CTC, grouping, and as a team, its what MO stands for, buggy, but usable... (both sides can complain, but its been, better)
Dont care if it was not pathfinding, bots chasing you inside a roid brings a whole new level to botting, and makes for some excellent practice.

imho the Itani music rocks. When I enter a sector with an Itani station the music always makes me feel like I'm (finally) back at home.
xmms? You can already play Oggs in Vendetta. :P
being attacked at a wormhole while on a trade mission and watching the UIT strike force NPCs come and save you
watching the sun glint off the solar cells at a station
having to look away from the screen because the ice is too bright
finding a bunch of rare ore in the middle of uncharted space
jumping into an unknown sector, seeing a huge hulk far in the distance swarming with little red dots, and wondering 'what the heck is that'

man i dont even bother with the ambiant music anymore. It got a little tiring. I only play it when i get in "heated" situations. Otherwise im just listening to winamp thru all of my music. Ive got a folder set just for Vendetta though :) :P But whats really surprizing about this is my computer never lags up when im using it. And thats surprizing for my beat up computer
you know that vendetta can play .oggs right? you can definitely make a playlist and play your music ingame. with vendetta.

I like group combat missions. Me and Com Solo had a good system going earlier today where one of us would make a run into the 'roid cluster and lure out some bots which we would then both violently dissassemble ;). The new bot AI makes it a total blast! No longer do they blindly follow one target but they will engage the nearest group member or anyone who fires a shot across their nose even if they miss.
