"new things in six months"

now, six months may not seem like that long of a period, but to a MMO game, it is a VERY VERY long time. alot can change and things WILL happen within that thime. the people paitently waiting for the "capital ships" and "exploration addon" are most likely going to lose intrest in the game within that large block of time, or become inpatient and stop paying for the game. its just a suggestion, but i think that now since you have alot more money than you used to(and will get even more money once the free trials end :D) to work with, are you going to speed up this six month process? i think it would be in great intrest for you guys if you pumped out these new things within 3 months.
now you might be thinking, "with all the things we have planned, we couldnt possably get those things out in 3 months!"
i believe its is possable. you already have the artwork, and have even used them in previous builds of the game(so i heard). you know what you want from these two things(noted above) so you really do have a head start. i believe you guys could do it in 3 months, becuase you are always seeming to be releasing new things all the time. now, i know you guys are only 4 people, but ive seen what you can do within short periods of time. i believe you can do it!

if they work 24 hour days, and don't take time to eat and never even once vistit their families, they could do it!

6-months is not long, thats what 4 months past the pre-order trial.

consider this, mining is part of the 6 month update, and yet its here at our doorstep (hopefully tonight fingers crossed) take this as a sign that 6 months is when everything will be in (mining, capships, exploration ect ect) not "Ok we have everything done here is a gigantic update at the end of the 6 months"
im pretty sure you can expect an update or 2 every month

And I believe it is physically possible to capitalize properly!
C'mon, say it with me, big letters are GOOD.

Maybe they'll release a new box in 6mo for the people on dial-up who don't want to buy a game and then download 115MB worth of updates? I dunno...

Ray is working as fast and as hard as he can. He refuses to relase a crappy product so things will take time.
This game is one of his passions and he spends a lot of time working on it.

He works 6 days a week for little salary. As it is I don't get to see my husband during the week because he gets home an hour before I get up for work.

I'm positive he will code new content as fast as he can but this is a grassroot game and it is going to need time to grow.

Yes they have some money coming in now but it isn't like the 150 million that Halo2 got. The subscriptions will allow the game to continue to be developed by paying for basic costs like servers and electricty.

If you like the future of the game and want to have some input then please stay. If you are that bored then come back in a few months. I'm confident the game will have evolved while you are gone

Hi, I'd like to point a couple of things out, on top of what Sarah has said. One is that we're working on rolling out new and interesting gameplay as quickly as we possibly can (see In Progress). The mining system will be in place tonight, and that was one of the "6 months" goals I had mentioned in interviews.. and it's only a few weeks after release. So, expect to see a lot of things popping up as quickly as we can add them, and we're prioritizing based on adding the maximum amount of interesting content in the shortest period of time. This doesn't mean that we're cutting corners on quality, just picking the things we know we can get done quickly. This includes things where we already have existing content.

On another note, we are very grateful to everyone who has subscribed to our game and is supporting us.. but we haven't made much money. We're still concerned about being able to support ourselves, even on our minimal salaries, and are far from being able to hire anyone else at all. Everything we get goes back into the company, so if we were in some sort of Halo2 scenario, you'd definitely be seeing a lot of changes ;). We're doing the best we can, we hope that we'll be able to keep growing things and keep moving forward, and eventually be able to bring more people onboard to help us create content.

alright guys! you heard the man!! get out and recruit more players so that we can ensure the devs are able to support themselves! and until each of you have recruited 10 players and take up an internship at guild software.... lay off a bit. being that we are getting updates every week or two says that they are working hard and not moving onto programming other things just because VO is released.

Devs, keep up the great work!! i'll definately be around in six months to see what you guys have created!!!

what yoda meant was "MARKETING, MARKETING, MARKETING" :)
and that goes to Guild SW as well as to all of you.
if a dev opens the "sugest marketing ideeas for making the game more popular" (in order for us to know they are interested) i promisse to submit at least 3 viable ideeas.

Yarg everyone needs to get that money in! I have convinced 4 people to buy the game and get subscriptions by giving them the chance to play at my house. It works surprizingly enough. BRING IN THE INCOME!

just posted to my LAN group's forum about this game. That should get a good number of people trying it out (and subsequently becoming addicted :D

My friends are lame and are playing WoW. My girlfriend has also betrayed me and sold her soul to blizzard.

All of my belongings won't fit in a box.

Your gonna have to settle for the 10 bucks a month.

Keep up the good work.

My brother and sister are also playing WoW so it happens in the best of families. :P

I still don't understand why people insist on paying $50-$60 for a "free month" (right, $50 is free) and then $15-$20 per month after that.

This crew, though, has done it right. You can buy the store package and get all the printed goodies if you would like. Or, you can just download and play. It makes no sense why the other business model is perpetuated.
