Not trying to rush the devs or anything (I would rather see them focus more on game content anyway) but I was just wondering when we will be able to send in for the E&B promo and when the details for that will become available. Also, will the offered ship variant for ex-E&Bers be a beginner ship, advanced ship, multiple variatiions of the same ship, or are we still getting one? If it is a weak ship it wouldnt help out the players who are already lvling up, and I doubt the devs want to make it rival the best ships in the game (though I for one wouldnt complain :) ) so I was curious as to how that was going be handled.

As far as this tester was aware the EnB "promotion" was the ability to preorder the game. No more. No less.

Incarnate did plan to give EnB players a promotion, but you need to get him to speak to learn more. The pre-order wasn't the promotion though, Incarnate said that if EnB users pre-ordered they would not get the one month free that EnB users would, as they did not want to give away too much free time.

I think he means that non EnB people would not get the 2nd month free for pre-orders or something??/

But thats not true so I have no Idea what so ever.

He means that if you both preorder and get the E&B promo then you only 2 months free intead of 3. Thre preorder offered 2 months fre and the E&B promo offers one month free repectively but you cant combine them. You can however get the other benefits form the E&B promo, which is what I am looking forward to.

Honestly, I'm not sure how it'll be handled. Strategy First is doing the promo itself, and I'm uncertain as to how the mechanics of the promo will actually work. They're supposed to send out a press release on this shortly. I'm a little concerned, as last I heard they wanted proof of purchase, and from what I've heard from our former-E&B users, a lot of you came onboard through friend-keys and stuff that allowed direct downloads, and have no proof of purchase.

However, assuming we can work out some reasonable mechanism to show who was an E&B player and who wasn't, we will definitely drop in some sort of gameplay benefit. We still haven't done that for our pre-order customers, or the alpha/beta people, but we will be getting to that shortly. Just have a lot of irons in the fire right now :).

Proof of purchase? That will be hard to prove. I mean, I still have the email for the last EnB code I bought, but I don't know if that could count...

Heh.. Give me 15 minutes and I could fake about 15.000 of those emails.

Thanks for the info Incarnate :) Guess its a good thing I still have my E&B box. Looks like I may be needing it again after all.

Exactly my point; I was an E&B player but I'll never be able to prove it. The email can be faked; I have the free trial CD but that doesn't mean I bought the game, etc. etc. etc. So, barring getting access into EA's records, people like me won't be able to get advantage of the promo.

That won't stop from playing (and paying) for this game, of course, but it would have been nice to get a break... ^^

hmmm I never got a box, been playing EnB from beta and kept using the game I downloaded..... so how do I proof my two years of gameplay on EnB?
can give out some nicknames LOL bt also that can not be traced at this point.. maybe make a screenshot of loading the EnB game (yeah still have it installed on my computer and not thinking to remove it at all untill I have to format my computer)

so how can you proof playing EnB?

The only way I can see is to get EA to release a gamecode/username hashtable and have VO players submit their gamecodes and usernames.

I am sure EA will be happy to hear that their previously devouted E&B customers have found a wonderful new home and accommodate Guild Software if they ask ...

Well, what can I say. I feel unrealistically optimistic today ... but it would be worth a try no?
