Just browsing MMORPG.com tonight, seeing what's around, and there's one fansite link to http://www.vendetta-online.nl. I check it out. Nice, slick interface, and...hey...

There's the entirety of the Vendetta Academy, and what I think is Starfreeze's ship and weapon descriptions, right there on the main page, no credit given anywhere. In fact, the author rephrased some things in a rather vain attempt to make it seem like his own work.

Now, I'm as much for freedom of information as the next nerd, but I'd at least like to see me name mentioned, and a basic, simple linkback.

I request:

A link back to http://genin.org/academy
A credit mentioning who the author of each piece is, and cite them, rather than yourself as the author
A note that this content was created for the Vendetta Academy, and is used on your site with permission of the author.

Put that information on each page, and not only will you have my permission to use my content, but you will have my blessing as well.

I also see several copyrighted images, including the basic color design of the site itself. Really, what the hell? it's just copy-pasted, and none of it's original. I really strongly dissaprove..

I was the name of the thread and opened the URL before opening and reading the thread.

My first thought was: "Oh, so the europeian stuff for Guild Software will be based in .nl.. allright!"

After reading it a bit more my status was "What the L? Guild will have to do better than this for their Europeian website!"

Then I discovered that allthough it uses Guld Software design, images, names, brands, screenshots, information and dosn't say anywhere that it's not the official the fact remains: They have nothing to do with Guild Software.

This angers me.

Community pages are OK, in fact I think it's great, but this is shameless theft.

What's the word from the devs? If they OK it I'll back off.
