Um, my order status says back ordered.....did you guys run out, or did gamestop just mess up again?! Maybe this is just the products status(i.e. the game is out of stock, but the ones pre-orderd and already orderd before this new status are going to be shipped)? Please let me get the game by friday(with 2 day shipping i have)

We didn't run out, GameStop did. We don't even have a box of the game ourselves...

I don't think they honestly expected to sell very many copies of our game, or something.

Sorry MacGuy, I have no idea what's going on with this. As far as I know, they were shipped several thousand copies, and I have no idea why they would claim some copies are backordered. Calling their customer service (ugh) might be helpful. I do have an email in to their website Operations Manager to see if he can shed some light, but probably won't get a response until tomorrow.

We have not "run out" by any means, but I'm kind of abstracted from our manufacturing (Take 2) as I have to communicate through Strategy First. But.. if I don't get a solution by tomorrow, I'll shake the trees and see what falls out.

(Note, Sarah, I think it's highly unlikely they we're "sold out" by any means. This is more likely to be another GameStop strange screwball problem).

Last time I looked the ETA was changed to 11/4/04..silly game stop, I feel so bad for you poor guys. There is only 4 of you guys and you're just trying to get your game sold. Good luck once again to all you guys, I'm get as many friends addicted to this game as possible!

Some type of time/space continum error where pre-ordering means they DON"T get a copy for you? I wonder do they expect a certain % to cancel the order?
Or are they understaffed and pushing the smaller titles aside to make room for bigger/heavily hyped games?

Argh... I hope you succeed to spite this terrible distribution system.

I'm bumping this thread up because it's important, also due to the fact that now the release date is 11/5/04 what the heck is going on here!

This whole GameStop experience is a mess.

I haven't got my pre-order key. Wrote various e-mails to general sales support and the magic Valerie ... no response.

Fortunately Andy/a1k0n got me set up here to be able to play.

Lost my Alpha tag somehow, but that's not so important.

I wanted to support Guild Software by pre-ordering ... but I think that went down the drain ....

In any event, I am glad to be able to play the game and sometime I hope that I will receive the box, CD, poster and the mystic in-game benefit (not so important either).

Keep cool and learn a lesson ;-)

This gamestop thing really is horrible.

I called them, they claim they don't have any of the games in stock! Could one of the devs please shead some light on this situation?

Ack! Poor devs . . . they promised us "undying devotion" for pre-ordering but it seems now that they need our undying devotion and patience. We're here for ya guys :) Just give the word and we will all show up on Gamestops doorstep with pitchforks and torches chanting "Vendetta, Vendetta" :o

My hat is off to the Devs. In spite of that bungling GameStop outfit, they are keeping Vendetta and us going. As someone pointed out above, one hopes that
we have all learned a lesson from this and will NEVER deal with GameStop again.

Now, there are many gaming sites out there, and they all have forums. Isn't it
about time for us to get on those forums, and get the word out about GameStop?
Perhaps a bit of agitating will put some pressure on them....

I'll call my contact at GameStop tomorrow and try and get this sorted out. But, I've called them before, each time it seems to get sorted out, and then each time it comes unraveled again.

To bump and to ask a simple question:

Has ANYONE received their box yet?

I was one of the first pre-orders and the UPS guy keeps driving by my house.
