Eloi's Final Good-bye

Oct 26, 2004 quiveri link
Seeing as this is the final week of Vendetta Online's Beta, I'm sorry to say I will not buy Vendetta to keep playing. It has been an honor to help the devs out with testing and flying by the sides of my friends ingame. Guys, I'm really sorry I have to leave. If I could, I'd stay, but I can't. Remeber me always guys.

Peace out,
Eloi D'Acrayel, former UIT.

Unless the boards are reserved only for people who are paying (hopefully not, that would be ridiculous), I'll be buzzing the boards inputing my ... um ... input? And thanks for the nice farewells. I think I'll get Magus' engraved on my tombstone in 80-some years. I'll see how many times I can come online before it officially goes $$$.

Eloi : )

:-(

Yeah, I probably won't be playing (what's new?), but I'll certainly be hanging around the boards, assuming the devs let us. *coughcough* :P

Why wouldn't the boards be left open to the public? A good method of attracting new methods is to leave the message boards open and allow the public to read over the game-related conversations. Have you ever seen a message board for a game that required you to have purchased the game? I haven't.

Leaving the boards open to the public risks massive flameage of non-players.
That and I see potential for conflict between testers and new players.

We'll always have IRC though. They can never take that away from us!

Well, so long Eloi. Stop by irc if ya can.

cya Eloi. I'll probably be on your boat, as far as buying the game is concerned.

Now, as far as access to the boards goes:
I think they should let all the people with current accounts keep them and post freely on the boards. Anyone who buys the game can post on the boards, and I think some people from the public should be allowed to. The Forum Mods should have authority to block anyone from the boards, like a 3-strike rule or something of the like. Then, flaming would be down, members would be up, and vets would be happy... probably.

Make that one more who won't continue playing, at least not until sometime next year.
I really like Vendetta, but university is keeping me awfully busy these days. :-(

For what it's worth, it was really a lot of fun! Thanks to the devs (especially for the Mac and Linux clients) and to the great community.

Sayounara...

I will also be leaving. I cant buy the game when it comes out. Im restricted on playing online anyway so i cant really play much. Sry all its been fun playing in the old universe where i actually knew what i was doing. Laterz Fellow UIT players (I still call it Gold team :) )

Bye Xerox, bye Eloi... :(

Will miss you... unless I happen to go too. My parents have been on a credit card debate... I purchase things online regularly, but when the bill went in and I claimed that I wouldn't pay it since my "Dad" bought it, Im kinda screwed over.

About the forum debate... RuneScape (MMORPG, Java-Based), has forums visible to free players (public, basically), but non-paying members CANNOT post.
