I just received my pre-order key from gamestop, but when I go to enter it (the gamestop email gives a link to http://vendetta-online.com/signup ), it only gives me the option of creating a "beta account." Here in the announcement it says:

"You are supposed to get a "pre-order key" from GameStop and EB after preordering. As far as we can tell, they haven't gotten this going yet. When you do, you will be able to convert a normal Beta account to a Pre-Order account (advisable for our current Beta users, or you may lose Alpha user status, etc), or create a new account, for those who are not already in the Beta. Further information will be posted for our existing Beta users, here and on the messageboard."

Particularly: "you will be able to convert a normal Beta account to a Pre-Order account" I don't want to create a new "beta account" or any new account - according to this we can escalate our beta account to a pre-order account (then to a retail account later), presumably keeping the same info (acct name, alpha/beta status, etc).

Am I misunderstanding the signup page?

I think good advice would be to not complete the signup form yet until it's all figured out.

Aye, got my key also, think that key is intended (for now) at least to give immidiate access to the *beta* (which if you already have is irrelivent ;) and then the pre-release stage when sorted, which it *is not... ;)

I also discovered in the meantime that I goofed up the encoding on the gamestop preorder keys, so they were being misinterpreted as beta keys, which can only be used to create new accounts. No big deal, though, since they are still distinct and distinguishable as preorder keys.

Ummm I have a problem, I never got a confermation email from gamestop. So my order tracking isn't working. Or is that cause the order tracking only works once the product has shipped. But I called gamestop and they said that they have the order so that's good.(odd considering they used the tracking number i got on the page after you make the order). So will this effect me getting this key in the e-mail? Should I call gamestop?

macguy, GameStop is pretty much beyond our control; we sent them keys months ago and they are distributing them now, so you'll have to check with them. I would imagine you'll get your key if you have an order, but I don't know what their status regarding the emails is.

If you never got a confirmation email from them, it sounds like they either have your email address wrong or you have some kind of spam blocker blocking it.
