If we subscribe to the downloadable game option post-release do we still get to keep our alpha & beta medals...?

It's likely to be a few weeks, flowers, dinners and paying off the *massive* balance before Mrs. Turkey let's me near her credit card again... (Especially for video games which she claims are "Bad for the imagination")

The medals are a permanent accomplishment of your character. As long as you don't delete your character, you will keep your medals.

Vendetta = good for imagination! (tell her you'll play more vendetta and less of those other games that are 'bad for you)

As of right now, if you use any characters during the beta, you will get a beta medal. Even new characters. Alpha medals are only for characters that existed before the open beta.

If you delete your character, you're SOL.
