another question or 2:
1: Is there anything out in a sector (like a station one) other then a small asteroid field outside the station. IE: Is there any point in exploration outside the 3000m range of the station/asteroids?
2: if there IS. The speed of the ships is kinda slow.. I meen... 60v is rather slow if you are exploring. For that matter, why not have different types of radar that are designed for combat, another for exploration/espionage, 3rd for mining, etc. Introduce some veriety in different equipment. Other then guns, that is.

at present, no, for the most part everything is fairly centered in the sectors. This is mostly a design decision as far as i can tell since some of the asteroid belts stretch for 15 or 20 kilometers. A better version of exploration will be more of an after release addon according to the interviews.

Much along this line has been discussed, and while there is losts of interest in adding more varied equipment, lots of things are going to be in the works for the next 6 months or so.
