"Patching version vendetta-beta3.5.10 to vendetta-1.0.0..."
1.0.0? what's the news, as I wait for another 58 MB to flow down the pipe.. (thank goodness for fast cable modems)
open to the public soon, perhaps?

Nothing much new that you can see. Just some bug fixes and the music mentioned before. The music will make a more prominent appearance later; for now you have to /playmusic to hear any of it.
But why version 1.0.0? Is it "Soon™" already?
Speculation will kill you :p But then again so will smoking heh.
I dunno Downloading update will check for bugs and just do as normal :) Oddly enough I did not find any bugs just a few things that would be cool to change but Incarnate said they were werking on it so no big deal.

Things seem.. sharper.. time to clean the glasses or was there a change?
When's /guild coming?
I called it 1.0.0 because it's what's on the CD. Of course there might be a client patch by release date but the client is pretty well ready to go (except maybe for bugfixes...). Everything from here on is server-side, pretty much.
I think some of the interface textures were tweaked for better resolution. I noticed this too, but I didn't know Waylon was doing it. He probably had a whole batch of stuff he held off until we did the biiiig patch.

wont that look bad for GS though, the first thing someone does when they go to play is download bug fixes?
which is why you dont call them bugfixes and instead add a little something to make it seem like they are getting something extra ;P
Throw in a few weapons and music eh...
Its become pretty standard to release a patch almost right away.. many games are doing that nowadays. I can't say I like or condone it, but given Guild's situation it's perfectly reasonable.
downloading...
YAY!!! A BUNCH OF PEOPLE ON!!!!!

You didn't answer my question, a1k0n.
AWESOME MUSIC! But can anyone list the music tracks there are on vendetta?

roguelazer, they come... SOON™
Yes, it's sadly standard practice these days. At least we won't have a 70 meg patch the day of release (it's been done before); it'll be like two megs.
We don't even -have- to patch the client, since everything is doable server side, but we will always be adding things and downloading updates is no big deal in our opinion.

I kinda like seeing an update every now and then.. it reminds me that the game is constantly being improved, and a bunch of small downloads means i won't be as likely to be staring at a Big Honkin (tm) download someday.
