Where's those electrical storms? They sound cool!
>Jonric: What assortment of enemies have you created to populate

> John Bergman: We have a pretty wide variety of different types

> major types of enemies. For one, there are NPCs, which fall
> under various faction alignments, fly normal ships and behave
> more like player characters. On the other hand, there are
> rogue AI drones and bots, the descendents of self-replicating
> mining bots and the like, that have since stopped obeying
> their original masters. These have no faction alignments and

> sort of self-modifying evolution, they can behave in a number
> of different ways, from the simplistic behavior of a single
> damaged robot to the complex mechanics of a large hive under
> the control of their producing "mistress".
Do we get this in 3.5.2?

Heh the electrical storms are not as cool as you think. They basically pull you out of jump and force you in a sector if you try passing over it to get to another sector.
Right now there's no special artwork for it either, unfortunately.

You get it in 3.5.2 if we turn it on, I guess. Works better when there are more people around to take advantage of the storms. Or bots which lay in wait in stormy sectors.
Can you make the electrical storms as blurry graphics? Have an area with blurry graphics representing the storm and have normal graphics as normal space. Kinda like a cloud effect.

Eloi: I think the electrical storms are a different thing than you think they are ... If I understand it correctly it will work like this ... if you jump from eg. system a1 to a10 and theres a storm in a5 you will end up in s5 instead of s10. and will probably be greeted by evil bots and/or pirates :P
or misunderstanding you :D

Great interview! Very informative
Gah. I hate my computer. I can't access that site either. Dooooooh. I hate not being able to access sites. It's so frickin' annoying.

Danielky - if you're on a mac, do "sudo ipfw flush". I've been getting similar symptoms on my machine for a while, and that fixes it. Prolly all that p2p software...
