A note for players about sectors you cant warp to
Notice how they're all near suns? We cant warp to them because if we do the super cosmic analiation vrtheer rays will turn us into space dust. SO our ship computers lock those sectors out.

I think the issue is that pilots are getting missions to those places.
Until it gets fixed, it might be wise to check the nav map to see if there's a problem with the destination before you get too far from the station.
If anyone's interested, I've been to those sectors. They look quite ordinary.

Heh, Ithaca sounds Mediterranean to me... p'raps your town was named after some older city?
There's an Ithaca in New York. And an Ithaca from the Odyssey.
Ithaca is also the name of a shotgun company.
I have a very old Ithica 22 cal. rifle, exelent gun...
I'm also noting that this thread lasted only 5 hrs.
What's the half life of a Vendetta forum thread?

On topic? 4 hours. Off topic? Three months.
Speaking of on topic, yes. Some of the systems you are actually supposed to be able to warp to are not available because of a bug computing where those suns are. This will be fixed in the next version.

Wasn't the "next version" supposed to arrive on, um, two days ago?
No need for scarcasm. The post about the next release clearly stated a _tentative_ date. Bug reports are rolling in still.
hey, now wait a sec...
something about all this suggests that the suns are actual objects in the world, instead of just in the skybox. does this mean we can fly into the sun and fry ourselves? :D

hey random, I'm sure Vlad has a post around here that explains how the planets get placed into the skybox... perspectives, distance depending on where sector is in relation to those heavenly bodies.... it's extremely cool and realistic.
But after all the calculations are done, the suns are in the skybox, so we can't go and fry ourselves.
roguelazer: but it's better that the devs get the necessary things done and update in a nice big lump instead of 'here an update, there an update' every other day, right?

I've been in the "sun" sectors. They look pretty much the same as other sectors. Maybe some day they'll make a blindingly bright sector.
