Do you think it might be a good idea to open up accounts for forum access only? Just so people who are just now hearing about this can get a chance to ask questions, get a feel for the community, and get hooked on the game before they even ever play? Just an idea i thought id throw out to see if guild could hook some customers before even getting to play the game.
hmmmm. no, in this instance i think it would be better to leave the account creation and forum access closed. building some supsense might be better than letting them in to see us all bickering with each other. I actually kind of feel that the general forum is more likely to scare away new players than entice them. :)
True Spellcast. But I'd like to note that what we're discussing is something that should probably be said. The community's concern for V's future is real and well-founded, if not a little exaggerated. Nevertheless, I don't think new people should see all this.
I agree. How hard would it be to make forum accounts, and just flag the tester accounts differently somehow..?
Im with Spell and electric said.
Suspense could prove to be a great marketing tool, such as with the 2nd and 3rd Matrix Movies, the director's allowed no marketing on those until the release dates of the movies. As a result, there was massive suspense when it went public.
Also, I wholeheartedly agree that the current information being sent around with regard to release should remain classified from the public's view. While it is relevant and well-founded, it's hardly encouraging.
Remember, we're paid (note, I STILL haven't seen a dime of that :P) to find the bugs, thus a large majority of the information moving along this site can be seen as highly negative.
