We got the course plotter online.
I've polished the interface overall.
Remeber you can email sector comments to me. The link is at the bottom of the page.
Next updates will mainly be backend work on the sector pages. Also would like to reformat the sector map.

Good luck keeping that up to date when there are 8000 sectors :p.
with some simple php, perhaps an automagically generated map that accepts user submission... that way, explorers in the new universe can take screenshots, distance information, features, stocked widgets etc and submit them to the database.
That way, a player can "pop-on" and query the database for the nearest station for example.
"im in solar system 22, sector 15 and i need the nearest station for repair"
... processing ...
"jump to sector 23, fky 14k to station."
THAT would be cool =p

MMmmmmmmmmmm... PHP........ MmmmmMMmmMMmmmmmmm!
I don't like PHP. Perhaps because I've never used it. Can PHP do client-side operations? That's the one thing I miss from Perl CGI. In order to do client-side operations you have to use Java. And I don't like Java, either.
Nope, you have to use JavaScript. Java is probably not what you meant. =P
For something to run client-side, the client has to know how to run it.

PHP can't do client-side operations. But that's why you have CSS!
The one thing I don't like about it is the comments. Some of them are biased. If it's supposed to be a map with information about a place, make it impartial information, not pissing contest entries.
An updated system map has been placed online.
Please feel free to email me or post system comments.
I plan to add more info on each system page, i.e. station names, bot locations, any other points of interest.

I'm still working on getting a new CoursePlotter up... CLIP if your out there email me, my address is on the website.

Hi.
PHP is server side code. That means that PHP code will proccess on the server.
PHP is used to generate dynamic web pages. It will generate a HTML and Javascript Document to be processed by the web browser (i.e. Client Side).
Cascade Style Sheets (CSS) are, like the name suggest, Style Sheets. HTML used to have two kind of information in only one document, the data itself and how the that data is shown to the user. CSS were created to avoid this issue. Now it is possible to have the data in the HTML documents, and the information about how that data is displayed in only one file (the Style Sheet). The advantage is obvious, if you whant to change the appearence of a Website, just edit the CSS.

I'll join the guild. I just need you to know that I will not be changing my char name to add a tag; it is more efficient to move around in fast ships.
Celkan you would be an welcome addition to VC...
and no there is no requirement to change your name or tag... i'll simply add your name to the guild page. please email me and we'll talk about assignments. my email address is on the VC homepage.
I've also added the station names and locations for every system.
Thanks

Ok.. i have a suggestion ;)
Could you add a faction sign (or just a name) next to the station? And a level of station?
1 - only basic ships/equipement available
2 - advanced ships/eq a
3 - almost every non-special ship/equipement available
4 - some special ships/special weapons
I could support some informations about NT air(?)space, but more info about corvus, biocom and valent is needed.

Please stay on topic.
Thanks all for all the comments... The main goal of VC back in 3.4.x and earlier was to have a map of all the locations of the game. There wasnt any nice one off line so I thought I could do somthing simple... which I did. I thought maybe some sector shots and comments would be nice also.
Due to the release of 3.5.x and the 7000+ sectors, its near impossible to host all those pictures (sector shots). So I had to rethink the entire site, whats my focus?, whats the point? I was really close to rm -rf the entire thing, but I got an itch and decided that I could do somthing "simple" again. I started with the universe map, then moved onto the system pages.
At this point I dont want to maintain a database at all. This site is soooooo simple my grandma could have done it, but I am commited to documenting station names, system names, even bot locations, as these things (hopefully) rarly change. I dont want to keep track of all the cargo/equipment in all the stations. thats crazy... CRAZY! Its gonna be diffrent for every person based on thier levels.
It's mainly just me doing all this. thanks to a few who helped with names and A (1) script.
Features yet to come:
I hope to get the course plotter back up. I thought that was a neat idea, hopfully with some improvments.
I need to add the names of the systems to the main system map. I did have some roll overs planed but I couldnt get java and php to play nice... I'm on the verge of fixing that.
I wana add bot locations, as I've all ready added the station names to the system pages. (thanks a1k0n)
The goal of VC guild is still the same. Document Vendetta's many places to go. I would like to find those "hidden" sectors/stations/wormwholes and get those documented. Also places of intrest. If someone finds a station booming with traffic/people I wana put on my system page "this station is a popular hangout" (or somthing to that effect).
