Incarnate mentioned that they will demo Vendetta here in LA at the E3 expo. NVIDIA has a list of games featured at their E3 booth, including "Vendetta (Strategy First)".
New publisher? Coincidence? Typo? Conspiracy? Which one is it? ;-)

That's really weird. Maybe Guild Software already cut a deal with both nVidia and Strategy First, but haven't announced it publicly yet. Oddly enough the Strategy First website does in fact reveal MMORPG games in development, as well as space combat sims. Check this game out for example...

However, their search feature does not have "Guild Software" under their develoment list. And Vendetta isn't listed as being an upcoming title. Either nVidia leaked something or they're on crack. Either way, good eye andreas. Keep 'em comin'!

Check the news. Looks like it's the real deal. So does this mean they've finally found a publisher?
Woo! Vendetta in the same booth as FFXI and WoW.... that's pretty prestigious. Way to go, devs!
*sniff*
I want to go to E3, dammit! -.-

Conspiracy! There was a response from raybondo and now its gone again! I knew it! ;-)
*cough*
*ahem*
er, never mind.

Plus there's the fact that people are more likely to buy games from a well-known publisher...
Def Jam Vendetta II is also at E3 2004. Maybe that's what they're thinking of on the NVIDIA page?
Okay, I've picked up their official blurb:
"Strategy First Inc. is a leading developer and worldwide publisher of entertainment software for the PC. Founded in 1990, the company has grown rapidly, publishing major games in the industry and simultaneously developing its own in-house titles such as O.R.B., Disciples II, and Nexagon: Deathmatch. After winning numerous awards for games such as Disciples: Sacred Lands, Europa Universalis, Kohan: Immortal Sovereigns and Steel Beasts, Strategy First continues to push the gaming envelope with its own groundbreaking titles, while maintaining its reputation as a unique alternative for independent developers seeking to market their games to a worldwide audience."
Okay, now it makes more sense. They're only the publisher, and with a long history and a willingness to publish for independent developers, they cannot be held responsible for the conduct of their developers after the release date (and probably after the original contract expired). They're behind WWII Online and Uplink, so they certainly have some good names under their belt. I take back my earlier comment.

I asked Inc, and their publisher is indeed Strategy First.
WOOT PUBLISHER!
Oh, they put out WWII Online and Uplink? Nice...
SF better keep multiplatform support or I'll gauge their eyes our with a spork.
Now that there's a definite publisher, is there any news as to how much Vendetta will cost on a monthly basis? Any options for a yearly subscription? I'm going to do some spending in the month of June and I'd like to know ahead of time whether I'll be able to afford Vendetta or not.
:D. I would love to p2p for vendetta once it's finished.
*again, I say: if I skip lunch 30% of month to play vendetta, hey, I could probably afford it with my lunch money... /me gets all hopeful

I am intersted as to what they will add to the game when it is published. The ships page talkes about LOTS of stuff that sounds really cool, such as customizing your ship with skins and "mods" and also Capital ships! OH MY GOD!! FEAKING CAPITAL SHIPS! Anyway, I hope it does stay multi-platform otherwise I am going to be very angry!
Don't panic, the devs said awhile ago they intend it to stay multi-platform.
It is in LA?? SWEET!!! It would take me 2 hours to get there but it will be worth the trip!!
