Pshaw, nothing beats the good old keyboard all on its own!
Although I've been thinking 'bout experimenting with an x-box style controller.
Maybe when I'm richer.

We have a Saitek X45 here and it works fine.
The throttle control has the DB connector and the joystick has the usb connector. The throttle plugs into the joystick and the joystick plugs into the computer.
But now i noticed that AlienB already said that.

yah i got a new joystick and it has two parts a game port and a usb port and well how can i get this so i can use both of them at the same time?
*cough* Defy... wrong forum.
Why would you need to use both ports at once?
Ok, propery summary of his problem:
Joystick: Saitek X45
OS:Windows XP
Problem: No gameports on new computer, used a USB adapter for Joysticks(Yes, the Zaitek are two seperate controllers, one of which are used one in a usb, and one in a gameport.) This computer has no gameport, so a USB adapter is used for the second one. Therefore, both are on the USB. The dilemma being that it does not register them as part of the same controller system as it normally would. Driver updates did not work, the USB port not being updated is probably not the problem. A USB splitter is an option i considered, however a USB splitter would still leave it as seperate devices if I am not mistaken. is there any advice for this dilemma. I have strict restrictions against trying anything which effects core window files.
It recognizes both pieces as indvidual controllers, as does Vendetta, but that does not do us much good.

Why not just use them as 2 controllers?
Since when does Vendetta allow two joysticks?
Heh, Defy, I've got one of those. The throttle controller plugs into the front of the stick. :]
Piro: Vendetta allows as many sticks as you can put on. I've had Both of my Saitek's installed, as well as an Xbox controller, working, and all at the same time..

Ooo, duel Saitek's on Vendetta... I wonder what that'd be like...
It's Dual, and it's not that great. The most fun I've ever had with a controller was the Xbox one, but it's a bit difficult to get used to, and it's a bit further away from the KB..
Pshh, who needs a joystick? There is nothing that beats a mouse and keyboard.
Obviously you've never given a stick half a chance. Hrm
actually you can have as many joysticks as you want on vendetta, the problem is that you can only bind them in the "controls" menu, they dont respond to the /bind command, or i'd hook up a couple of my spares to use the buttons for quickkeys.
I think I said that already....or...is there an echo in here?
See, genka knows what he's talking about. Arrow keys own
echo echo echo, thats what i get for posting at 2am.
Well I use a joystick AND the keyboard. So that means I'm a cool guy in both crowds, right? I mean I'm already a cool guy, right? ....Right? Don't run away...
Mouse=better aiming and directional control
Keyboard=well used keys for everything else, that have more freedom than a joystick since there are more keys:P
And yes, I have tried joysticks.

Joystick is the best. End of story.
