Another way to get new missions.
Ray,
Like "/updatestation", there is another way to get new missions.
If I don't like going from 12 to 3, I decline the mission then, hit the "license test" button. I hit the "accept" button and, go back to cargo missions. This will give a new one. (this can only be done in home or adjacent sectors)
Feature?

Even easier. Undock. Dock again. New mission.
This is much easier and faster than undocking/docking, Arolte...and, for bug testing purposes, especially the BSoD bug, I suggest they leave it in for the time being.
I don't see what the problem is of giving players the option to change the mission by undocking etc. I mean it makes sense. When another player docks into that station they'll take that job instead of you, so therefore it'll change. Or the NPC will get tired of it and will ask for another mission from you. Or better yet, maybe you can profit by bargaining with the NPC this way (decline, undock, dock again 3 mins later, and the NPC becomes more desperate and offers more money for the same mission, etc.).
I don't understand why the "updatestation" command was made to stop it. It's the equivalent of saying: "Sorry, I can't do either of those. Got anything else?"
I can't believe that people are getting tense over this. There is not *ONE* way or a *BEST* way to change missions. There are choices. Choices are good. So now we can choose the way that is right for ourselves. Pick one, pick two, use them all, don't use any.
Available Choices:
1) /updatestation
2) Decline mission(s), undock/redock, recheck missions (lather/rinse/repeat).
3) Decline mission(s), take license test, recheck missions (lather/rinse/repeat).
4) Take the missions that are offered.
The choice is yours. Relax.

heh, when i want to get new missions, /updatestation usually works
you can also choose a black market mission or a combat training mission and abort it for a new mission list.
paedric, et al,
When cargo missions are properly balanced out, meaning that short easy missions yield far less points and bonuses than long, difficult or dangerous missions, there should be a choice.
I could care less if, at that point, they put a button in that says "I don't want this mission, what else do you have?" and give you a choice of fifty different missions.
For bug testing purposes, revealing unintended results from certain actions is why we are here.
This is not a popularity contest for different methods of getting new missions but, rather, a revelatory post for Ray.

Aye RelayeR you are, of course, correct. My only point was that getting hot and bothered over this really isn't productive.
Just remember the Vendetta mantra:
It's not a bug, it's a feature. 0.o

**Double post**
Errr... The mission interface is already set up to handle displaying multiple missions, so why not just list all of the available ones there? Also, as for the empty box on the right: would it be possible to stick the mission description there instead? It'd certainly be faster in the future when there are 20 different missions to look through...
Hehe...that's why I posed that question to Ray in the first post! :)
