Check out spymac.com
There's a deal where you get a 1 GB email account, 350 MB for webspace and FTP, and a couple gigs of transfer. Free! :P

make the vendetta window something like 320x240, set up a no-control vnc server on the vendetta window with forced high compression and then people would just be able to login to the server and watch it. If set up correctly, it will be quite fast and won't consume TOO much bandwidth.
romikq, i don't know what a vnc server is, and vendetta can only go as low as 640x480, I don't want to serve anything from my own computer.
Camps, i forgot about spymac's recent announcement, i'll look into that, thanks. :D
but i still need some way to auto-convert the file from .tga to .jpg (or some other internet friendly format)

RealVNC! It's better!
good timing :) ... a few days ago I played a with xvidcap ( http://xvidcap.sourceforge.net/ ) and vendetta
The "best" I could get was 15 fps at 512x384 rendered directly to an mpeg4 avi
but I only have an 1.3ghz Athlon + quite slow hd's ... the game was barely playable while capturing :)
You can switch to lower resolutions by adding them to your XF86Config
EDIT: oupps .. thought I read sth. about linux above ... pls ignore me ... lalala :)

He's on Windows... Which has support for 320x240 right in the game.

tightVNC VS realVNC. bout the same in My book. have used both...
As for the screen caps, there's plenty of command-ling image conversion utilities out there...convert the image to a PNG, or even a JPG, and upload THAT to the web-server...
30 seconds of quickie code, and it would be just like a web-cam...

vBot on windows :P
I'm on mac OS X thankyou
but the cam has been abandoned, there is just too much transfer involved and no way to transfer that amount of data without paying hefty fees for highspeed connections and the likes

How's about you resize it before uploading?
Something like a 320x240 85% JPG should be small enough right?

He'd still upload gigabytes of data daily. Remember, upload AND download count against transfer allotment at most places. Even if he deleted them off the server regularly to keep his used space down, he'd run out of upload transfer very quickly.
