195km = 195,000 meters if my math is correct, I went 3,000,000 meters out into s3 ( just to see what happened ) and nada, ziltch nothing happened. Version 3.2.14 i think.
Was i just lucky? There were other ppl in sector and we made a 'group' so we could measure the distance.
All that happened was it got very jerky. I couldnt be bothered to fly back so i just /exploded.

He went 16million m. Give or take.

It did in fact get more jerky the farther out I went. But 16 million meters...that's just insane. Why didn't he log off?

Sili went 2bil meters, actually. Then the sector crashed. It was a signed int, so its max was 4bil/2.

Did they then turn it into a signed double for 4 billion? I guess there's no way they're going to be able to prevent people from going to far, unless the put a large wall. But that would take away from the true space aspect of it. I guess eventually when there are enough sectors for it, they'll just have you warp automatically to the next geographically (for lack of a better word) closest sector.

They made a repulsive wall at, like, 1millionm that bounces you back. I think.

um, what? No, it's not a signed int. It's not an int at all. It's a 32-bit float, so once you get to a certain point, the "repulsive wall" is just floating point inaccuracy; adding your velocity ceases to actually change your position.

I just found and fixed another octree bug thanks to someone spacing themselves in sector 4. Someone is still doing it, in fact. You can stop now; the sector is ignoring you.

Also, I finally understand and fixed the bug that has been plaguing the server for weeks.
