Restarting old account?
Hi, thinking about maybe returning for a while. My installation of VO are from 2007 and last time I logged in and had a short comeback was around 2018. It worked then I think. Should it be OK to just run it as before, let it update and expect everything to work? It's on Linux if it matters.
I also have around 10 plugins that are probably ancient now. Have something changed with regards to these? Is it best to avoid them? Would be nice if they worked though, was very nifty ones if I recall correctly. Don't remember what all of them are for, but surely good for something! ;)

Custom skins still work as before I assume?
On the non technical side it would be nice if you could add a billing option where you get a certain time in-game rather than X months in real time. These days I have a family, farm and life in general and very little time for gaming. Rather the opposite from back in the days. It's not that expensive but paying for a month and then have time to log on for an hour or two feels... not worth it. I would definitely have subscribed more over the years if I could buy say 10 hours in-game instead and use that over a longer time period.
If we are lucky I can get the kids to play this with me when they get older. Maybe even have a guild and all :D
About that: anyone remember Phoenix Alliance? Maybe someone from the guild is still around?

You'll be good to go with your account, I only update and log on a few times a year these days & always without issue.
As for plugins, I'm not sure. I suppose the only way to find out would be to log on and try them? The old VOUPR repository is defunct these days so someone else will have to chime in with the current site for plugin acquisition should they not work.
[PA] has been dormant for yeeears but Greenwall is still around doing Wally stuff, to my knowledge. (he's the only ex PA I can recall.)

We don't publish specific numbers anymore (originally at player request, due to in-game bashing from EVE people); but I will say our MAU (Monthly Active Users) has been on a gradual upward ramp, and is now up about 25% over the last four months, and climbing. I suspect that will continue.
We still aren't really "marketing" the game right now, as there are too many aspects that are not modernized or polished enough (new UI, smoothing out new-user experience, administrative tools, etc). But, in spite of that, we're still getting attention due to all the localization work and so on.
