Trading Tips

Hello. I just started to play this game. Been playing for like a week.
Loving this game so far and thinking of investing a lot of time developing my in game character.
I'm interested in transportating and trading. I want to know any beginner tips that might help me up my game fast.
I also want to know whether it is possible to transport/trade stuff directly to players or sell stuff to players through a market (similar to Eve).
In short give me tips on how to get things up and running fast and what long term goals I should be focusing on.
Thank you for the tips šš½š

If you have a premium subscription, you can trade addons between stations for high profits. If not, you have to haul commodities for significantly lower gains. You'll have to find your own trade routes, unless someone is generous enough to share theirs. This is applicable only for PvE trade. It's not really profitable, and it's pretty boring.
In player trade, most commonly traded items are Synthetic Silksteel (farm from collectors and transports as a beginner, Arklans once you're decent at combat), Siepos/Prosus/Milanar Neural Nodules, manufactured capship parts and manufactured and farmed weapons. In player trade items are simple dropped in space and the buyer picks it up. Credits are transferred using /givemoney "name" <amount> . There's no player market like Eve as yet.

Well, as a f2p player I can say that if you're trading, do escorting mission at the same time. Make the trading the main income and treat the escort mission income as a bonus. Yeah, sometimes the escort pays *a lot more* than the trading sales but you shouldn't rely only on one or the other
Also, not a trading tip per se, but if you're f2p DON'T spend crystals in anything besides ships. You can get weapons paying more credits but zero crystals. Ask around
The most important and maybe a bit overlooked warning is:
DON'T "haul" weapons with a crystal cost for profit IF YOURE F2P! Youll read "yeah, haul Gauss and youll be set for credits". That advice only works for premium. As Sid said, commodities is the game.

(Welcome to the game, first of all :)
FWIW, a number of the things that are currently quirky about trading (like commodities vs addons, by account class) are going to be improving when a new more organic economy is rolled out.
These oddities are holdovers from changing the game from a pure-subscription based MMORPG into a hybrid model with a Freemium tier. We didn't have the opportunity to redesign the entire game from scratch, so some things have been in kind of a weird state as a result.
But, they are going to be addressed, along with a lot of other general improvements to economics and trading.

Thank you very much for the info.
Thank You very much for the information guyz. Also it is very nice to hear new developments are on the way. I think this is the best mobile game on android period.
hello
From my experience in general Trade missions (Delivery, Procurement, Retrieval etc.)
It's good practice to pay attention not only on "bulk" marks, but how much cu does something weight. For example: "Deliver 16 Common crates (3cu) to Dau-00..." means that every crate weights 3 cu (16x3=48 cu). I made some miscalculations (more than i want to admit) and i had to buy bigger ship or just did more trips:)
Also as I found out if you are asked to, for example, "deliver 20 Basic engine modules", and you have some empty cargo left, buy all Basic engine modules you can get. This way you can sell it aside main mission and make some extra profit. Take a note that fully loaded ship flies less agile than half loaded.

You're better off just building a stock of supplies at the station you're working from.
So say the mission is procure 10 ion cores. Go fill your ship with as many ion cores as you can and unload the surplus into your station inventory. Now the next time they ask for ion cores you may already have enough in your inventory to complete the order. Load up your ship, launch and then dock again. That way you get the full time bonus.
If you want to be fly about it stock up your inventory so you can complete a Bulk order without leavjng the sector.
If you want to be really fly about it, find a willing person with a capital ship to haul you a ton of the most common asked for commodity.

Tom pointed out a solid point: Check the actual CU space for the proc mission. Doing two trips to complete a mission is a pita
Besides that, if you're not multiboxing, or in a guild, or have any "capship" friend, go to A to B with a full cargo hold. Do the mission and sell the rest, and so forth. Might be boring, but working in your standings and getting all the creds you can in each trip, pays off
But I think OP was talking about general trading tips

When you say ātrade addonsā when having a premium subscription, what does it mean? Iām a F2P player and can only see commodities to take from one place to another. I havenāt read anywhere else aside from this thread anything about trading addons. Ty.
Addons - ship addons - as in equipment, he means.
I see, I didnāt know that as F2P I could only trade commodities and not addons. I can sell addons I get from battles tho.
When you are F2P add-ons have a crystal cost to buy as well as credits. You can sell these items on and make a profit in credits but you wont gain any of your crystals back.
A fully subscribed player has no crystal so they can purchase add-ons for just the credit cost.

Ah, thanks. Now I fully understand. Ty!
