When will NAOS engine be released?
The website has said that the NAOS engine will be released to public to build on/ experiment with.. is this still going to happen?

The website doesn't exactly say that..
It does say we're looking at free business model for the client-side 3D engine, and that:
"We are currently in the process of making this engine available as a licensed middleware product."
Not that I'm particularly against public builds, I'm just clarifying what is stated on the site. We were initially going for a closed-alpha, hence the signup-list.
Short Answer: I don't currently have a release timeframe on when the engine product may become available.
But, it is still "on our radar", so to speak, and we keep improving the engine substantially in the meantime. Especially in terms of server capacity and scalability.
The biggest likely long-term interest in our tech IP will be in the server-side of the engine, not the client side. But, it also takes a lot of effort to go from "in-house engine used in VO" to "fully documented middleware engine product". That would probably be an investment of around six months.
For the moment, the current trajectory and focus is on the next-gen version of Vendetta Online, with the updated UX and other features, and a big marketing push. After that marketing push, we may again gauge interest in the engine tech and putting the time into "polishing up" an offering.

Sweet.
Hi incarnate, I'm new here. I've sent you guys a couple of emails with some idea's...
I guess I can post here to see what you and the community think of them ?
The site says - " the current trajectory and focus is on the next-gen version of Vendetta Online, with the updated UX and other features, and a big marketing push. "
Updated UX sounds great !!
What are some of the 'new' features ? ( or how soon will you let us know? )
I'm looking forward to the next-gen version...
For 'Free' Marketing:
How about a ship design competition ? ( you set the 'Size' / Design limits )
- the prize being only in game 'Name' of a new ship design ?
- 3D Designers can submit ship designs - then ask the community to vote on what they like best ?
Maybe let the artists use these 'tools' you talk about ??
" with a whole suite of custom tools (available for Win/Mac/Linux) to help artists build and prototype their assets "
