So... why?
Why can we /set fov -300 ?
Cause its really hilarious! https://youtu.be/MMJWSu_0X4k
I accidentally added a + when setting my FOV for screenshots, and yet the game didnt complain, so naturally... I was really curious, and tried a negative value. just like trying to set a positive value above 180, I don't see the point, but... whatever, its cool and weird and makes me laugh. I hope it makes you laugh too.

Why not?
Because we like FREEDOM! :D
It was even funnier at one time, it actually set your default FOV, so it used to not reset when you pressed /+zoom; basically you were stuck like that until you typed /set fov 70 (or whatever your default is now), or changed resolution. They later made the command only apply to the session (so a relog fixes it, unless you edit the config) and then even later to what it is now (and it doesn't work at all in VR).
[100] yodaofborg: Hey, Niki, are you still using that /set fov 259 hax ?
[100] yodaofborg: WC!!! FFS, DON'T TYPE THAT!!!!!
[100] s0me-newb-n0-sc0p3-360XxX: Ahhh my display is gone weird HOW TO FIX PLS!!!!!
[100] Niki: Hahaha yoda got you, type /set fov 70
Ahh, those were the days. I mean, if you cannot **** with people in a bit of a harmless fun, and teach something at the same time, well what is the point?
None I guess.
Laters! (much much laters)

I feel like / commands with with negative parameters has always been a source of fun. Remember when `/+Turbo -100` would give you infinite energy? Good times...
