In-Universe Politics
I don't know where else to ask this, it's just a simple question about the in-game politics.
I noticed that in the Universe Map there are the different node of different colors corresponding to the three different factions.
I didn't know if it was possible for one faction (Itani, for example) to take territory from the Serco.
And if that would change the map.
I haven't been playing for super long. But I really do enjoy the game.

Hello Bobby, nice to know you enjoy the game.
The Itani and Serco are at war in Deneb, the border between the two nations. However, there is no code in place that allows one faction to “capture” the territory of another.
Maybe, in the future, it would be a possibility, but we don’t have anything like that now.
The best we have are conquerable stations, where players can battle in greyspace for stations that are crucial in manufacturing of the capital ships, the Goliath and the Trident.
Good day to you. If you have further questions, do not refrain from sending them here.

You can take sectors in deneb through the deneb border skirmishes [you can join the itani or serco military at combat liscence 3], but no system takeovers. The deneb conflict runs on a weekly basis, and the losing side has its greyspace-facing wormholes blockaded.
